Vergil resisted the urge to roll his eyes upon hearing his brother's cheeky remark, having anticipated this sort of competitive scenario which was a common theme between them, thus keeping counts on their kills as well. He gracefully somersaulted to avoid a giant scissor soared toward him and countered by a spinning slash that prompted a loud shriek from the demon as it fell and dissipated. Vergil landed smoothly and straightened himself, looking at his brother with amused annoyance.
âAnd still have scores to go before coming to an even with mine.â
The impertinent laughter at his expense summoned the full force of the Judgement Glareâ˘, which he aimed and unleashed at the uncultured, sodden-witted mooncalf of a little brother. His lips pressed into a thin line, together this facial omen heralded a group of summoned swords that were launched rapidly toward Dante, following yet another and markedly worse mimicy from the infuriating oaf.
âThe appalling lack of universally formal phrases in your less than measly vocabulary is no cause for me to change my locution.â The underlying threat in his words was emphasized by the forbidding manner in the way his right hand flew to Yamatoâs tsuka.
The elder twin nursing the notion to simply conjure a portal and jilted his brother right there and then, when Danteâs offer of a deal prompted him to pause and tilted his head askance. And his suspicion was proven upon seeing the way Danteâs grin twitch as though about to widen, prompted Vergil to huff impatiently and resume his movement to draw the Yamato. âCut your malarkey and follow me, or linger here and starve. I care not, Dante.â
âOh come on Verg?â Dante whines, the same sort of needling whine that he used to do when they were children and the elder would walk away from him. Itâs so familiar and thankfully it doesnât hurt anymore to think it or to remember it. âOne simple little thing for me? And Iâll even throw in an extra to sweeten the deal? Iâll be the picture of educated and fancy wherever you take me.â He speeds up just enough to get in front of Vergil and walks backwards to maintain the distance.Â
âI can be smart. I can blow your mind with my smartness. Lets seeâŚHow aboutâŚâ He puts his nose a little up in the air and gets a rather haughty tone. âPie? As in apple? My kind of pie is 3.14.â He drops the act for a second and whispers to Vergil, âDonât ask me for further than that, I have no clue what comes next,â Before he immediately puts his nose back in the air and resumes his previous tone. âAnd then they said Pluto was a planet again, well I could have told them that, ha ha ha ha.â He does a rather nasally chortle for that laugh that does make him slip and break into real laughter. âOkay, so maybe I canât manage all that. That might be outside of my acting range.â
