Calne getting rid of the Blue Orb WAS NOT:

Him getting rid of "the evil part of himself."

Him getting rid of AbeI, who was the mastermind of it all

Him getting rid of something that would make him better as a person and always nice permanently

CaIne was letting go of his ego, symbolically.

All he did was let the BlueAi finally roam free, thoughtless, just a roaming entity. Out wandering the void. I understand now that he was relying heavily on its ability to create to make everything he did. Now, his ability to create has been returned to his original self: imperfect and messy and not nearly as powerful as he was before.

He gave it autonomy. His first act of penance was the thing he was guilty for: devouring his sibling and using THEIR abilities as his own. Now... He just.

Lets go. He takes the first step by accepting his imperfect self is enough to find what he craves the most: love and belonging. He uses his imperfections to give the humans what they truly needed most.
