More on the thinking of using smartphone sensors to break down the trajectory in a different technique than what is being used with ballistic engines what are used by the apps that are available currently. How do you mount your phone to your scope?
n order to use this smartphone app, you are going to need to mount your smartphone either at the eyepiece of your scope or at the far end. If your scope has zero magnification, you are able to use this app with your smartphone at either end of your scope. If your scope has any level of magnification, your smartphone will need to be mounted in front of the eyepiece in order for the app to work.
There are several commercially available mounts already on the market, in a variety of price ranges. Also, some very creative people have made videos on how to make your own mount for very little cost – those can be found by doing a search on YouTube. While we aren’t specifically endorsing any of the mounts currently available, we have actually tried several of them and found them to be effective.
