We don’t really know much about Delphine’s origin story. There was that ominous story in S3 about that girl from boarding school Delphine knew “very well” that might reveal a little about her past (Many believe Delphine is referring to herself, including Graeme Manson). But as to how she got wrapped up with DYAD and Neolution, no one really knows. Did DYAD recruit her? Threaten her? Bribe her? Who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Cosima-centric OB comic sheds a little light on Delphine’s involvement with the cloning experiments. According to the comics, Delphine was already aware of/involved with the experiments before she was sent to Minnesota to monitor Cosima. But no, I don’t think we ever explicitly learned how Delphine ended up at DYAD. We do know – and Evelyne Brochu has said – that everything changed for Delphine once she met Cosima, though. Love, it’s a hell of a drug.

And PT? I think PT saved Delphine because she was a valuable(!) DYAD scientist. She was aware of Neolution and also had intimate knowledge about the clones and their cure. A knowledge like hers would certainly be a valuable tool to PT and his agenda.

IMO, PT saved her because she was an “asset that still had value”, that value being her intimate knowledge of the program and connection to the Ledas.

As for her induction into Dyad, and the inner circle, I have my own opinion. I think it all started out innocently enough, with Delphine choosing Dyad because of their cutting edge technology in her field. Over time, once she proved her mettle, the inner workings were revealed, and she was “seduced” by the amazing possibilities. As mentioned, her introduction to Cosima changed it all, giving her another perspective, and an opportunity to feel true love.
