The rumors about Caster and his master spread like wildfire. Both that incident and theirs occurred within the same general time period, if not their own being a little later. Despite the number of civilians involved on either case, it doesn’t make a difference to Assassin whether it was two or two hundred people murdered. Death is all the same to them.

The only thing Assassin is really concerned with is Caster’s identity. Or, in the case that he’s not the same person they’re both familiar with, who he represents. 

“It’s merely jest, Master,” Wolfram says, even though all parties know that it had been anything but. In the versions of themselves the Grail had sampled, Ansel is the epitome of primal destruction. Any chance for him to act on those urges to raze, he will take. “We all know that we cannot fall out of line. We also will not do anything you dislike.” Their Master holds their unwavering obedience in that regard. “But we’ll certainly be on our guard. There’s already been preceding Holy Grail Wars that displayed misconduct within the Church. It would behoove us to practice caution.”

“Before I give up my command seal, however, I want to test them.” While nonsensical, and brazen on his part, he wanted to earnestly question them. Why was it beneficial if he let those men live? He couldn’t do it by his own means, entombing them in a eternal grave was the only way out. However surely, the association and church managed to pick up on some magical residue of their apparent crime. “Will you help aid me in my confession, Assassin?”

Unethical practices, illegal business – according to reports, those men were already wanted by the association for some crimes anyway. So what good would they be still alive? Unless they wanted to gather them for the means of information.

“I mean, those men...at the time, it sounded like you’ve met with them before or something.”

I think they should fuck off, but I already know what you’re going to tell him. Wolfram rolls his eyes at Ansel’s thoughts. In the cover of darkness, these moments of boyishness can come freely.

“Forfeiting one command seal is generous, in my opinion,” Wolfram says. “I believe it best to go.” They’ve already committed a severe offense by involving civilians in this matter. Defying the church further by brushing off their warnings will only spell trouble and they’re in no position to act like loose cannons like certain predecessors.

Violet switches to gold in a blink and Ansel rolls their neck, finding comfort in the soft sounds of cracking bones. “I’m on my best behavior, so safe to say that you have our undivided cooperation. Losing a command seal shouldn’t be such a big deal; we can work with just two. Though if we were gonna get caught anyway, I still think we should’ve just set the place ablaze.”

And that’s enough of that! Wolfram tells him before assuming control of the body again.

März smiles serenely. They stole the words right out of his mouth; further rule breaking may cost them their lives and he would never want to subjugate his friends to that. 

“I see, I agree! I guess it’s only a matter of time of getting there now.” He faces toward the darkness, to face them. Talking to them so casually feels so nostalgic for some reason, he ponders why but waves that off. Ansel’s words causes a chuckle to roll through his lips. “...And possibly...if we remain on our best behavior, who knows we might be able to get it back! That all depends on what Leo and Caster might be doing....because....didn’t they...didn’t they kill people too?”

They slaughtered more than two people, according to the rumors. März didn’t know how to feel about that.

It had been in a remote area too, but he probably shouldn’t of been so lax on the procedure. Even though those two men were swallowed up by his Servant’s Noble Phantasm, he should of been more...careful. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t of had the power to condemn them prior. 

He turns to glance toward the darkness; he knows someone’s there.

“....What do you propose we do, Assassin; should I go....or not?”
