This is in my top 10 favorite songs from the 60s. The profound soul in his voice is timeless in how he paints his emotions upon life’s vast “string” canvas, with a pronounced backdrop of human experience and struggle. I say string canvas since I believe the string sections hold together this song in it’s entirety, given how movingly beautiful the harmony each instrument provides. This song paints a vivid portrait of humanity, a portrait of you and me. I firmly believe that the only thing constant in this mad universe is change.
