As you go into the week and you do your runs... concentrate on your EASY RUNS. Slow down, run faster! Easy running delivers oxygen and nutrients directly to the muscles used during running. The faster you run on your easy days, the more stress you place on the muscles, tendons, ligaments in bones. You may be able to head out the door and hammer out an easy day and feel fine with your breathing, but your hips might not be strong enough yet to handle the pace or the consecutive days of faster running and, as a result, your IT band becomes inflamed. Mi tesoro was a super sport. To him it’s mom doing what she does on Saturday mornings only today it was in SA and it was the second year for #TROT @trailracingovertexas to put on the Alamo City Ultra. Great day for me. Took 2nd place out of 50 participants for the 10k. Awards are given to top 3. I’ll never miss this race without taking Santiago with me. A very technical and challenging course. 5k-50k options and can race on both days! Maybe next year I’ll hit Sat and Sunday.
