Where should I start? In wall filled with art, where should I fix my eyes? I was lost when I entered this hall. More than one art caught my eye and I wanted to see all of it - all at once. I was thinking how can I do it, when somebody tapped my shoulder and asked, “Isn’t it that art speaks so much about you?” I looked at it and started laughing - it was a tomato cushion with pins and a small man with a banana head holding a heart (I love banana and I want to be a cardiologist in the future). I almost didn’t notice that detail if she did not point it out. 

“How foolish it is to force myself to look at every painting all at once. Who aim I kidding?”, I whispered to myself. 

That was when I was reminded of that even how much I want to do everything, I need to learn how to take things slowly unless I will end up spreading myself too thinly and will forget appreciating the details of what I am doing. 

Those thoughts were unexpected. But I was glad this place reminded me of how I should live my life.

“Just when everything feels right, life will always give me moments to make me realize that it is not,” she said looking somewhere far away. 

It was a sunny day filled with hope, enthusiasm, and dreams. It was the third day of January 2019 when my friends and I decided to visit these three museums in Manila. I have been in all of these once, and I couldn’t clearly explain to myself why my legs are leading me again to see these places. I convinced myself that maybe it’s because of the people I’m with and not the place, but as time passed by, a weird kind of happiness emerged in the atmosphere. I was laughing, staring, and talking to some paintings; I was imagining different pieces of history I never thought I know. I was connecting all the rooms in the museums as if my head was telling a story about the past – everything about it. (So maybe I was there not only because of the people with but also because of the art and the stories they communicate.)

I’ve been in these places before, but the stories each museum tell never gets old. I believe that each sculpture and painting somehow represents stories about our past, our present, and what might be for us in the future.

The family I got to meet this year. I love you, and can’t wait to love you more.
