- the insults should be witty, punny, and, of course, dirty

- original is overrated. take inspiration.

- know your audience, but also work to broad appeal

- can’t find the right word? make one up!

- current events provide compelling themes

- if people are not crying or laughing, bring it back to the drawing board

Dear Esteemed Tumblr Users,

I am, quite possibly, losing my mind.

Like a fool, I neglected to bookmark a fic believing I would be able to find again only to end up here.

This is what I’m certain about:

-It was a Marvel fanfiction on Ao3. Tony Stark was almost certainly the main character.

-The poem was formatted as a numbered list. It was inspirational and included mentions of stuff like stars, nebulas (space dust), space, supernovas, etc. It was about being broken down and building yourself back up to brilliance? idk something like that

This poem likely/might be:

-Featured in multiple works. I was reasonably sure I had seen it before. The possible other work is also likely a Marvel fic

-Is in the summary or notes on chapter 1

 -Written by an Ao3 or Tumblr user. I remember there being a link to the author

-Include a phoenix metaphor

-Be 9 lines/bullets long (or 7, or 11)

-Have a title like “how to be a star”

-be in all lowercase, or mostly lowercase

-in a post endgame, endgame fix-it/time travel, or civil war team iron man fic, based purely on the fact I believe it was Tony Stark centric and the vibes I remember

-the fic was somewhat popular. I can’t put a number on it because this was I sorted fanfiction by hits and just kept going through the pages.

Wow. A truly transcendental math video. It was definitely worth all 23 minutes. I just had to share it and highly recommend it to all. Just if there are other people around, consider doing so with headphones. Enjoy!
