with all the things going on right now, the last thing elena cared about was a snide comment the original sister made. she let it roll off of her back and she swallowed her pride for this one, ever since elena made the mistake of literally stabbing her in the back, rebekah hated her and now that she wasn’t sixteen anymore she understood it more. there were a lot of things elena did in her life that were selfish, that being one of them. “i’m not trying to kill you.” she told her honestly. “i actually just came back from the dead myself, i’m in no position to be trying to hurt anyone. but i’ll be quick in what i need so i don’t keep you, i can’t exactly compel anymore.. and well since i was dead and now i’m back, i kind of need to get certain accounts unfrozen and people to forget that i was ever dead so i can spend my money, get a place to live and all of that.” stefan was dead, damon was human, she hadn’t seen caroline and she didn’t want to involve any of the kids from the school. 

It was no secret the distaste Rebekah had from the Mystic Falls resident. The Original didn’t trust often, and that wasn’t to say that she trusted Elena, but the doppelganger had lost her chance of ever gaining Rebekah’s trust when she helped try to kill her on multiple accounts. Of course, that should have been evened out when Rebekah actually did kill her on that bridge, but she was vengeful and dramatic so who could blame her. “This sounds like a personal problem.” She crossed her arms over her chest, quirking a brown at the brunette. “What if I just turn you so you can do all that by yourself?” That probably wasn’t possible, of course. Anyone who took the cure would be permanently mortal like they’d learned years ago. Unless somehow her actually dying had changed the rules? “How about this? I’ll compel you a vampire lackey and someone at the bank to do your bidding so you can get on with whatever you have planned for your second shot at life.” Despite what had happened between them, Rebekah had slightly changed her ways the past years. Or it could have been that Elena had simply caught her in a generous mood, either way she would help to an extent.

“I don’t suppose it is, but it’s the truth. He’s a witch whose turned himself into a monster with an ego to boot, not like we know anyone else like that…” Was she referring to Kol or Kai? Perhaps both, not that it mattered all that much at the end of it all. What mattered was the current climate, the situation that was affecting everyone in town, so many people that they loved so dearly. “Asking won’t do us any good, and he hasn’t shown his face in awhile. It’s nervewracking because if he’s staying low, it usually means he’s planning something big, and I don’t have the slightest clue what it could be.”   Then came the question of the hour, and it hard answer to swallow. “Possibly, but Malivore’s weak, and if we do… we don’t know what will happen to the resurrected. If they’ll stay alive or…”

“Oh we have plenty of those around so we definitely have to get rid of this one.” Rebekah had all the confidence that she would be able to find a way to save her family and get rid of this witch altogether. All she had to do was make the right allies and find the perfect moments to execute whatever plan she would come up with. “Well that’s just great. So we’re left absolutely clueless about this witch and his intentions for the dead? Well-- resurrected.” She huffed in frustration. The sooner they found a way to free their loved ones from his control, the sooner she’d get to kill him. “So it’s a possibility still? That we shove him into Malivore and then kill both of them together? All we have to do is break his connection with the resurrected first.”

“You’d be surprised how much people spend in this tiny town.” She’s snapped out of her trance, offering a smile to the stranger that seemed to be talking to her. “Yeah. You can start right here. Slightly rugged and mysterious looks like your style.”

“she may know, that girl knows a hell of a lot more in nineteen years than most witches i’ve come across in the thousand we’ve been roaming the earth.” aside from their elder sister and his wife, the bennett witch was also talented but he was sure their niece could cast spells around her in circles. “which for us is no simple feat, i think maybe that is where we went wrong anytime a failure has landed at our feet.” none of them had ever really been patient and maybe part of that was the way they were brought up or what they had been turned into. the older mikaelson smiled a little at mentions of him being in good hands. “what about you, sister? how is marcel doing?” he was important to both rebekah and davina, he had to at least attempt to ask about him. “this is true, a lot of darkness comes along with it but you cannot deny we did have some of the best times of our lives there.” meeting the loves of their life, their family reconnecting in an honest way. 

“She was born for greatness. I just hope she doesn’t feel like the world is on her shoulders again.” Rebekah hated what had happened to their family when Hope was still growing up. The girl lost half of her family too early and too young. “Well, we were never really known to be the strategists, anyway.” Sometimes they had their own plans, but it was mostly brawn that controlled their actions. “Oh, you know.. He’s as good as he usually is.” She sighed in reply to her older brother’s question. In truth, Rebekah had absolutely no idea how Marcel was or where he was. She had chosen to give him his space especially after she had broken up with him yet again. “You’re right, brother. New Orleans in the 1900′s was a time.” He was right. It wasn’t all bad. New Orleans would have been perfect had she herself not ruined it by summoning their father just to be rid of Klaus.

while celestia was never huge on family, she could understand why others may be if she had been born into the right one, maybe then. however she also considered zuko to be her family. “there’s nothing wrong with that, bonds with certain people are definitely worth checking in every so often.” her interest peaked even more with the originals words and she nodded happily, a genuine and large smile placing over her soft features. “you are an angel rebekah mikaelson. i’ll also owe you one in return.”

“That’s debatable sometimes.” Rebekah laughed softly. Her family was complicated in that sense, but she would lay her life down for them in a heartbeat. “An angel. That’s new.” She laughs again at her friend. “So where are you staying these days? I can’t imagine Mystic Falls has the best hotels.” She was sure she could compel some rich resident to accommodate her friend.

He gave her a little smirk. “I’d like to see you try, little sister.” He teased. Klaus thought to the night he died. What had happened after? Things were a little blurry. “I can’t answer for sure. I know I didn’t find peace, but that’s okay. I was waiting for Hope.” He would have waited a million years for her to find peace before he would let himself.

“It’s been a couple of years, brother. You’ve probably lost a little bit of your touch.” Rebekah teased, though her smile is immediately dropped when he mentions he didn’t find peace. Suddenly she felt guilty that she found some happiness whilst her brother wasn’t at peace. “Oh, Nik...” She sighed deeply. “Hope is amazing.” Rebekah cracks a smile. “She’s just... absolutely amazing. The bravest girl I’ve ever met.”

🌋 ― He flashed her a grateful smile as his hand clasped hers. “Dangerous, huh?” he feigned curiosity. Dimitri already knew Virginia was a hotbed for supernatural activity.. and Mystic Falls had its own reputation. One that just kept unraveling the longer he stayed within the town’s limits. “I am pretty useless in a brawl… Should I thank Lady Luck or you?” 

“Very dangerous.” Rebekah playfully taunts some more. Though obviously there was truth to her words, it was just a matter of whether they’d be proven right or not. “Well that’s just a shame now, is it? But I think you should be thanking both. Lady Luck for helping you find me, and me, for-- well, for protecting you from all the things that’ll go bump tonight.”

🎭 ― It had come out of nowhere. Maria was caught up in the innocent joy of being rained on that she hadn’t noticed she’d sought shelter with another person. Apologetically she waved in their direction. “You think it heard me?” A slightly nervous but mostly playful laugh followed suit. “I was missing the rain something fierce the other day…” She was still getting used to Mystic Falls, in any aspect. Little things like the weather made it all too real that she wasn’t home anymore.

Rebekah didn’t mind the rain, usually. She lived for the extra dramatics it added whenever she felt like it, but unfortunately, today was not a day to be dramatic. On her shoulders was a very new jacket from a dear friend and the last thing she wanted to do was damage it. So as soon as the water started pouring down, the blonde was left no choice but to run for the nearest shelter from the rain where another person happened to run to as well. “Maybe... You never really know who’s listening around. Nature is crazy these days.”

even though a few years years time had gone from her life, thankfully her bank accounts remained full of money. she was able to rent out a hotel until she could find something more permanent and had just bought a cell phone, nose deep in a text message she was sending she hadn’t even realized someone was in front of her until the last second and just barely stopped herself from colliding into them. “oh god, i’m so sorry.” elena said, finally looking up and her brows knit together, one original in town usually meant the others couldn’t be far behind. “i - rebekah.” she paused, deciding not to let past interactions hinder her moment to maybe figure out what the hell is going on. “this is going to sound weird.. especially coming from me, but can you help me with something?”

Rebekah was still on the search for the rest of her family that could have been resurrected by the Necromancer. It wasn’t exactly like the dead would be brought back to life with clear memories and a means of contacting people, so her only option here was to do her own search and rescue mission around town. “Oh. My least favorite doppelganger.” Her expression slightly drops at the sound of her voice. See, she had a way of telling the doppelgangers apart. Mostly it was the way they spoke, given that they were all from different points in time. But in the case that this could be Katerina posing as Elena, she was a little cautious. “What do you want? I have things to do and recently un-dead people to look for. And just in case you’re trying to kill me, I haven’t taken the cure yet so watch yourself.” 

      “If the necromancer brought her back, Ill kill her again myself.” Tatia spoke bluntly. 

“I’m sure you’ll have to get in line after my brothers, but no doubt you’re the one that deserves it the most.” Her mother was despicable beyond words with all the pain she’s caused so many people. “But anyway, enough about that evil witch. How are you doing? Where are you staying?”

      “Because I told him that mom was killed by her lover.” Juliette replied as if it was the most normal thing in the world. “She was having an affair. He was also mad because I watched it all happen. . Her dying and calling out for help.” But Juliette just watched.  The blonde smiled as she entered the grill and sat down besides her. “–Old age is only natural, rebekah.” She lightly laughed at her. “ Oh, I guess because not many ask about it… Um, what do you want to know?” 

At this point, Rebekah just found these situations comical. Sometimes the way humans lived their lives were just entertaining. That was a perk of being a vampire, she guessed. There was an unlimited number of do overs she could take, unlike humans who only had one. But still, she had to admit there was some tragedy in the story her friend was telling. Brows furrowed together, she throws another sympathetic look her way. “That’s awful. I can’t imagine what that must have been like for such a young kid like you back then.” Lifting her hand, she calls for someone to give them menus, though she already knew by now which menu items were good and which weren’t. “Yeah, I guess it is. Would be nice to get old and wrinkly after living a full life.” She crossed her arms over the table, shrugging her shoulders at Juliette. “I don’t know.. just, tell me stuff. Like... do you have siblings?”

"Elijah, Hayley. Cami, too.”

“A solution to free my family of this Necromancer’s hold. But I wouldn’t be opposed to finding a way to kill him.”

“Not at the moment, no. There are more, other pressing matters to attend to.”
