Congratulations to the people of Ohio for standing together to say “NO” to Issue 1. You defended democracy and protected a woman’s right to control her own body.

What’s actually disturbing is the feature of the Roberts Court to accept lavish gifts from billionaires, hide that fact, & then rule in their favor. It would be an insult to democracy to respect this conduct. Legitimacy is not a birthright - it is earned. They are destroying it

As Justice Brown Jackson wrote in her dissent today, “deeming race irrelevant in law does not make it so in life.” Institutional racism exists. It must be combatted. I urge colleges and universities to remain committed to recruiting and enrolling students of color.

It is frankly outrageous that SCOTUS has lifetime tenures, but NOT a code of conduct. With great power should come great ACCOUNTABILITY. We must pass the SCERT Act to hold these Justices accountable.

For too long, auto companies have been exploiting workers. It is past time to give these workers fair pay, decent benefits, and the ability to retire with dignity. No auto worker should make $16.50 an hour. I urge Ford, GM, and Stellantis to reach fair contracts with the UAW.

Last year, UPS made $13 billion — that’s billion, with a B — in profits. Yes. The company can more than afford the wages and benefits workers are rightly demanding. UPS should come back to the table and negotiate a fair deal with the Teamsters NOW.

Justice Alito accepted tens of thousands of dollars in lavish vacation gifts from a billionaire who lobbied to cancel the student loan forgiveness. After the gifts, Alito voted to overturn. This SCOTUS’ corruption undercuts its own legitimacy by putting its rulings up for sale.

Last year, Republicans & too many Democrats voted for an $80 billion increase in the Pentagon. We now spend $877 billion on the military while we have the highest child poverty rate of almost any major country. Any deficit reduction plan must include major cuts to the Pentagon.
