brooklyn's here genuinely does something for me like on an emotional level. every time i hear the line "hey manhattan the cavalry's coming" something in my soul shivers.

First headcanon post let’s go

Davey, having been to school, speaks in a more ‘proper’ way than most of the other newsies. And his accent is. Less? Softer, if that makes sense? He’s still got it, but it’s not as noticeable as the others’.

But after a while of being around the newsies, his accent slips out more(??) and he uses more slang and stuff. Jack takes notice and totally makes fun of him for it (affectionately) trust.

Not only the accent- he loosens up more. I feel like he was a bit uptight when him and Les first showed up, then the strike started and he quickly became an actual part of the group rather than just being the new kid.
