I wanted to capture a aspect of her character that I feel tends to get overlooked, sadness. It's a minor thing but I think Sachiko carries a lot of sadness and emotional burden from things like, a clearly failed marriage, being a single mother (and all the troubles that come with that), worrying about her son, and having him fall into a coma for 15 years (I guess we could also count her dying wishing she’d believed Satoru). But the best part of her character is that she’s still an amazing mother, and overall person! She’s caring and loving and she doesn’t let any of her troubles weigh her or the others around her down! I just wanted to capture a bit of her sadness and struggle as it’s I feel important to her character, and gets often overlooked in favor of just seeing how great of a mother she is.

Man time travels solves/prevents multiple murders, rewrites his whole life, inspires others to rethink their life, and ends up in a coma; just to be a better manga creator.

I did a painting of Anita this week while I was working! Since I work at the craft station all day, I have a lot of access to paint, and since no one wants to come do crafts in 100-degree heat, I had some time on my hands lol! I think next week I'm going to try to paint some erased characters and OC's! I just got to remember to bring a reference :)
