Renamed to X, ditching iconic bird logo and abandoning "twitter[dot]com" domain.

API no longer free, similar to Reddit & restricting Adult Content outside the app.

Likes no longer public. it was limited to Twitter Blue subscribers until June 11, 2024 as it applied for all users.

Elon publicly says to advertisers "Go Self-fertilizing" during 2023 NYT Dealbook Summit

Blue tick no longer indicates official account but instead indicating Twitter Blue subscribers. it was used for impersonating official accounts.

Rate limits in mid-2023. claiming to block bots while it's not.

Restricting links from Competitors and even Paysites*¹

Allegedly incentivizing Bot admins to spam and manipulating metrics.

Algorithm isn't as good as it was.

Promoting Hate speeches, Disinformation & Right-wing posts.

Politically Biased (altering algorithm during 2024 election, blatantly endorses Trump)

Workforce distrubances (hardcore working conditions, unlawful layoffs)

Annoying Shopee Affiliate issue isn't resolved even to this day.

Wrongful termination of accounts (Journalist, Indonesian Menfess, some opposition, ElonJet & etc.)*²

Blocking feature no longer fully hide contents from blocked account and vice-versa.

Grok AI becoming fascism sympathizer & spreading white g'cide theory.

Twitter ID verification via AU10TIX, a israeli firm.

"Forcing" users to get Twitter Blue subscription*³

Paywall trials in Philippines and New Zealand*⁴

Attacking Brazilian Judge after getting banned in Brazil*⁵

Grok AI training from posts on twitter and as a result, many artists moving away from twitter to post exclusively in Instagram and Bluesky*⁶

Twitter Blue now required to extend character limit in posts, extend video duration up to 2 hours, use Twitdeck, SMS 2FA, Monetization and obtaining blue tick (as mentioned in point 5). Twitter Blue is also used for boosting reach.

Logged off/Unregistered users no longer have access to homepage.

In mobile app, Twitter ads now using Google ads & removes headline under external links. as a result, problematic ads (like Shopee and Online Loans) appeared inside twitter app.

Scam ads appearing more frequently starting late 2024.

While Twitter under Elon constantly creates controversy, there some good changes:

Community Notes. This feature is really useful because users can propose clarification of potential disinformation. although, this system are easily manipulated by using bot army to upvote specific entries.

J*b Listing. this supposed to compete with Indeed, Jobstreet, LinkedIn, etc.
