You call yourself a sailor for steering a rowboat through a pond. Anyone can wear a title. If you tried to navigate a ship through the ocean's stormy waters you would surely drown. 

Shatter your beliefs, accept your naivety. I promise that cocky act wasn't going to get you very far. 

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be condescending. But in this city, you should have known better. 

Talk to that slightly odd but wonderfully dressed stranger sitting next to you at the bar, ask them a question. Everyone holds wisdom, especially those you tend to least expect. Never underestimate anyone. 

There are so many trees with ripe fruits to pick from yet you keep going back to those same rotting branches hoping desperately that something will grow again.
