Why are there not a zillion biopics are Harry Houdini? They can make movies about serial killers, but not a legitimately interesting guy who debunked psychics, hired a gal Friday to be a detective, toured in the circus with his wife, and got into letter writing fights with Arthur Conan Doyle?

I mean, the Adrien Brody movie wasn't *bad,* but Brody is a subtle, eloquent, and dignified actor. Houdini was a human cyclone in a 3 piece suit.

Funniest story ever to me is the time that Houdini was trying to prove to Arthur Conan Doyle that psychics were shams, did this whole elaborate trick that psychics also do and said "I won't tell you how I did that, but I will tell you it was a trick. None of it was real. It looked fancy, but the whole thing was a lie." And Doyle's response was like "Wow I can't believe you've been hiding psychic powers from me this whole time."
