5 May 2026: Queen Rania attended a charity dinner in Amman marking the 20th anniversary of Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, reaffirming the non-profit’s two-decade commitment to expanding educational opportunities for vulnerable youth across Jordan.
Held under Her Majesty’s patronage, the event celebrated the achievements of the Fund’s beneficiaries, expressed appreciation for its donors for their sustained support, and aimed to secure funding for a new cohort of Jordanian youth to complete their higher education.
Originally launched by Queen Rania in 2003 as a charitable campaign, Al Aman Fund was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2006, becoming the first Jordanian institution of its kind dedicated to supporting the underserved demographic of orphans aged 18 and above. Named for the Arabic word for “security,” Al Aman aims to provide orphaned youth with opportunities to obtain higher education, and achieve professional and personal success in adulthood.

Sharifa Dina bint Abdul-Hamid busily preparing her gown for her upcoming wedding with King Hussein of Jordan, a distant cousin, in April 1955. The 26-year-old discusses details with the model and Egyptian fashion designer Pierre Clouvas.
Princess Aisha bint Feisal of Jordan, assisted by her sisters Ayah & Sara, gets ready for her wedding at Zahran Palace on 12 May 2025.
The bride wears a bespoke wedding gown by British designer Phillipa Lepley, crafted in their London Atelier. The gown features corseted waist, hand-embroidered tulle capelet, and Peau de Soie pleated overskirt in Italian duchess satin. Embroidered entirely by hand, the bespoke piece featured signature Phillipa Lepley motifs: delicate maiden’s fern leaves, silk appliqué primroses, satin stitch orchids and violets, embellished with ivory pearls and twinkling glass crystals. At the waist, it featured a draped cummerbund and an organically tied, voluminous bow at the back with flowing tails that cascaded down the train – a personal and youthful detail requested by the Princess. The capelet fastened at the back with silk-covered buttons and loops, offering both modesty and refinement. A delicate scalloped hem finished the look.
Princess Aisha paired her bespoke royal gown with a very special two-tier, hand-embroidered, silk tulle veil that echoed the capelet’s floral motifs. Crafted over many hours, the veil featured an embroidered border flowing around the hem and growing up the train of embellished threadwork maiden’s fern leaves and stems, silk appliqué primroses, orchids and violets. The design was completed with bespoke embroidery of the couple’s initials, “A & K,” surrounded by daffodils and lily of the valley flowers – symbols of love and new beginnings, chosen by the bride.
Speaking to Tatler, the princess reveals that it was while studying in London, at the University of Westminster, she fell in love with the clean cuts of British bridal designers, whose work she would often see in shop windows. As for the floral tiara, it was a gift from her mother Princess Alia, and was also worn by her sister Princess Ayah back in 2014.
The process of creating her dress took a few fittings, but Princess Aisha knew that she ‘wanted to add a youthful touch’ to the dress. ‘That’s where the lovely big bow comes to play,’ she revealed, ‘something delicate and modest to respect our culture’. It was Aisha's sisters who added the finishing touches to the dress.
