First time since the mudslide plugging this guy in and seeing if it still functions. I cleaned it up a bit first (it was almost submerged in the mud). (at Montecito, California)

The Landis is going to get an acid bath and a new coat of paint, we only found two of the four Blanchard edgers that I had been refurbishing, the poor Kingsley might still be serviceable, and my threads survived! This morning, the mudslides in Montecito slammed into my home. This is what remains of my workshop. Suffice to say, Rare & Sundry will be closed for some time. However, we are safe, and we will dig ourselves out and rebuild. (at Montecito, California)

Ash all cleaned and added some basic organization that I can’t believe I didn’t do last year.

It’s funny the things you decide to grab when you evacuate. Food... documents... blanchards...

It has been a wonderful year. I feel like my skills have kept growing and I’ve met so many wonderful new friends and clients. 2018 promises to be even brighter! Happy New Year!

Looks like the #thomasfire is finally starting to give in to the will@of the firefighters. Should get to go home soon.

So we have been evacuated due to the Thomas Fire in Ventura and Santa Barbara (hence the lack of posts lately). We are safe and so is our home but many other people have lost their homes and people have died (one firefighter this week). Please take the time this holiday season to donate to the #redcross or other disaster relief organizations. They do incredible work.

The ostrich as the folded french binding makes for a real interesting bit of character. There’s a lot of non-quill leather on an ostrich so I might do this on some other wallets too.
