Luthor pretends he cares about humanity but all he cares about is his ego. He tries to drag Superman down because he cannot stand there being someone above him. If he really meant what he said he’d try to raise and surpass Superman instead. Become a force for good even greater than Supes.

Lex literally having a full on emotional breakdown just because someone has a Superman tattoo is both utterly hillarious to watch and also completely in character for this evil weirdo given that when he was given the choice between universal peace and happiness for every single person including himself or trying to murder Superman he chose option B

The way Clark is talking about how hard things are, how he’s not sure if he’s doing the right thing, how it always seems like those that have power or wealth escape unharmed from committing their crimes, that angst right there, mixed with how he says he’s still going to get up the next morning and help however he can, THAT is why characters like him and Steve Rogers are the best. They give us examples to strive for, while also showing that if we want to make the world better, it will be a hard and heavy burden. But it can be done.

I’ve read a couple books on this actually, thats exactly what happened. Also cyclops are from looking at bones from a certain type of baby elephant. The giant note hole and tiny eyes made it look like a single eye.

And what’s even funnier to me is that back in the dark ages, Greek people used to find a lot of prehistoric bear skeletons - and those look exactly like human skeletons, except they’re like eight feet tall or something - so they naturally assumed those were the heroes of legend, and made armour and clothes for them and reburied them with the most splendid and sacred religious ceremonies they could think of? Fast forward five centuries, Athens’ all modern and rational, philosophers and scientists aren’t taking any shit from anyone - but the problem is, people will randomly find graves containing giant-ass warriors, so that’s something that can’t be explained away and yeah, demigods were a thing and yeah, they used to be eight feet tall and sorry I don’t make the rules.
