RA Power Solutions team of two technicians with portable crankshaft repair equipment was immediately deputed to Navlakhi Port in western part of India. On inspection of crankshaft following was observed: The crankpin no. 3 was badly damaged due to seizure of the bearing. The bearing white metal was badly embedded on the crankpin diameter.

We follow stringent quality control procedure which includes testing of the bonding of white metal with steel lining by using latest breed of ultrasound equipment.

This process protects the bearing surface and to bring back the worn out bearing dimension through recasting of white metal is called as rebabbitting. We also undertake rebabbitting of old worn out white metal bearings and manufacturing of new bearings upto 1500 mm diameter.

RA Power Solutions undertake the grinding of crankpin with damaged radius because of the use of the latest technology of crankshaft grinding equipment developed and manufactured by us.  

Initially the grinding was done to undersize 0.5 mm and crank pin diameter was maintained 194.50 mm. On undertaking the MPI test the multiple cracks were still present on a critical location near the radius fillet.
