Waga baga bobo

There was a big craze during the middle/end of the undertake fandom that somewhat mirrored the onceler fandom. Basically, people got bored of just drawing gaster and shipping him with other characters, and there were too many ask blogs, so everyone started making their own alternate reality OC Gaster. They quickly got bored of that and started making a different Gaster for every fetish, and ask blogs/comics/crossovers with them.

These Gasters ranged from “Gaster but femdom” to “Gaster but actually a tortured escaped circus lion” . The main person that I remember had around 9 different Gaster fetish OCS, all named things like “Salty, Sweetie, etc”, all with huge thighs and asses. This person reigned supreme until they made an amputation fetish Gaster named “Sweetie”, who they tortured, which caused alot of callout posts and anon hate, quickly causing them to retcon the character and eventually fade out of the fandom.

A crazy idea I had during an art contest on The Overman server. It's about a man who used to work for The Nest. This guy's design is based on the stork, the myth of the stork delivering children. I chose an airy and volatile design because that's the very heart of Very Little Nightmares! This might be a very long post, but I want to explain the whys and wherefores of this character's design. I'm proud of it, so here goes, and if it can help people in their residents conception, It's such a pleasure to help!

The game is very much rooted in this theme of birds and aerial in general. The Nest is very vertical; it's called the Nest, There are many birds and hot air balloons; the design of the Butler and the Craftsman is inspired by vultures in different ways (the nose for the craftsman and the hunchbacked posture, For the butler, it's even more elaborate, a dark suit like the plumage and that stretched smile, reminiscent of the vultures in cartoons like in Snow White). I seem to recall reading once that the Pretender could be reminiscent of baby birds.

Choosing a bicycle was a crazy idea I had in my head; it might remind you of things like in the world of Jules Verne, or steampunk and satirical works of the 19th century. The choice of the hot air balloon was intended to reinforce visual consistency with the universe and to help the Postman pedal and transport the bicycle through the air. Why not make it fly? Because even though magic has its place in the Nowhere, I think it works better in a more mystical context, studied by the character or in like the butler. I always liked that the residents were beings from a world that was logical yet fantastical, grotesque and bizarre, but still functional. Very different from our world, yet simultaneously close and deceptively familiar. The residents are striking because they are creatures, but they are also people; they are close to humans and resonate with humanity. I wanted it to be wacky, fantastical, but plausible. A man who uses his bicycle to deliver goods, but adapted to the twisted and bizarre rules of this world.
