Hi! Hi! Hi! Pick me up! Pick me up!

I realized as a terrible parent that I haven't actually posted about the two that made this all happen to begin with. Meet Honey and Opal, our two sweet (we think) Russian blue rats! We got these two girls in June and we believe they are to be around 7-8 months old. They are sisters and look very similar, Honey is just a very slightly lighter grey and has a bit of a longer face, and Opal is a lot chunkier! Opal is more social but Honey is more relaxed.

This is how much attention I get every day when I come from work, everybody wants a minute with mama! We are only keeping them in this cage until they are big enough to go into our 6 level ferret cage! We even had to attach hardware cloth to this one as it was too big still for them still. I'm so in love with our little girls it's crazy!

Our newest little babe, Tilt and our other new babe in the background, Moo. Tilt came to us for free as while you can’t tell very well she has a permanent head tilt (they suspected it was from a stroke because she’s extremely healthy otherwise) and her right eye bulges a bit more than the other. She’s what is called a double Rex hairless rat. She has been incredibly sweet to my boyfriend and I since we brought her home, grooming on us and boggling away, and we are so appreciative of this little girl! When we first looked at her and her cage mates to decide who we were taking, she had herself tightly tucked in the back corner alone, and when I went back a few days later to get her again, she was up at the front of the tank with Moo waiting for me, like she knew. The years are short, but the memories are long.
