Hey there everyone! This is randomxdarkness, or you might also know me as tekitou-no-yami subs (ToY) on other platforms.

This is my blog where I post updates on the subtitling projects I have completed, as well as entertain any specific questions.

I generally provide English subtitles for Japanese anime/video game-related content that usually do not receive subtitles. Alternatively, I may also subtitle content that is no longer accessible to the public (e.g. limited time event shows/collectors edition/secret content).

My sincerest apologies for the embarrassingly long absence! I tried creating a new pipeline to speed up my video editing process for faster uploads, but ended up delaying the next video upload for longer than I had intended to.

A shorter upload coming in <48h to tide over.

Reverted to a legacy approach and will be working on the new pipeline gradually in the background, but experimenting with a new upload schedule. Currently trying for shorter videos (<30min) once in 1.5 months or so, and longer videos (>45min) once per quarter 😬

But enough yak from me! Enjoy an old classic duel links match between the beloved Hatanaka-san and Masuda-san (our very own Yuma and Shark)!

As usual, premeire mode is enabled for those who wish to watch live together and/or chit chat. Maybe this is pretentious with my channel being this small and this particular video being this short, but I just like to set a consistent rhythm going forward! 🥰 Also, I have decided to add commented timestamps for duels as well. There will be timestamps (chapters later as youtube still hasn't allowed me access to the feature) per turn for all likewise videos from now on (also backdated this feature to the VRAINS duel opera video!)

Caught this nice little segment a couple of years back from the monthly OCG Times broadcast on the official Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG channel! What a treat. I don't believe we ever saw Bruno's seiyuu before! :D

Full spoilers for Bruno and 5Ds in general though. Please beware!

Not a sub upload, just some random musing 🤭

I'm a Singaporean, so the (infamous) SG dub was in fact my first unironic impression of Yu-Gi-Oh! in my childhood days.

Honestly it sounded so alright to me at the time... still cried at emotional scenes and stuff (now I laugh though LOL)

I never realised how much of a meme it was online... 😂

Still though, say what you will about the voice performance, but you gotta admit, it's pretty darn faithful to the JP. Like down to the word 😆 and yes, even the sound words, like "hm" and "huh" every time they turn to look at anything (mighta made it that much more awkward sounding though!) Soundtracks too!

Thanks funny SG dub. Got me not just into Yu-Gi-Oh!, but anime as a whole ^^

(Low key wanna hear the rest of the yugiohs in this dub though 😂)

Legend of the Duelist @ Tokyo Dome | Protagonists Stage

The latest subbed stream has been made public! This time featuring the Seiyuu Stage which took place in the Tokyo Dome, in April 2024!

My sincerest apologies for the delay! I had initially wanted to make it by Xmas 2024 but due to the large number of simultaneous speakers it took much longer than expected.

There might still be some mistakes, please pardon me! You can report those to me on my comment on the video itself. If there are a significant number of mistakes I may reupload. The video is 8GB and took hours to render so I'd prefer not to though, haha :)

Backdated post for a previously released video!

Talk show involving the voice actors of Yuma, Kaito and Shark promoting the addition of Tenjo Kaito (or Kite Tenjo for yall dub watchers ;>) to the Zexal World in Duel Links. (I wish they had more of such character-specific events! :P)

Tried a little something new this time and while it was extremely time consuming, it was a blast! Ergo, they were playing in JP language in Duel Links, but I managed to mask all the speech bubbles and skill names into English. Same goes for the cutscene dialogue.

You can expect this to continue for future streams as well! (trying to watch out for the time commitment as having to manually mask each bubble is pretty arduous. I reallyyy wanna sub the Point Battle streams though. Some of the banter is hilarious!)

I'm aware there was a Part 1 to this stream (3v3 duel challenge). I actually do have that video as well, but I am prioritising all talk show content before duelling. I should get to that eventually!

Audio Drama | A previous upload of mine!

Unfortunately this video has been blocked worldwide on Youtube. Some other users have also reuploaded my subtitles and removed my watermark, claiming credit for themselves... last I saw the re-uploader had gotten 100k views whilst mine remained blocked. I think their upload has since been taken down as well, though I am not sure if there are any other re-uploaders.

For those who missed it I am so sorry it took so long to make it available again. Here goes! (Hope this doesn't get taken down either...)
