I keep thinking about this river somewhere, with the water moving really fast. And these two people in the water, trying to hold onto each other, holding on as hard as they can, but in the end it’s just too much. The current’s too strong. They’ve got to let go, drift apart. That’s how it is with us. It’s a shame….because we’ve loved each other… But in the end, we can’t stay together forever.

Missing someone can mean different things. It can mean you are nostalgic for history or you regret what happened. It can mean how you desire to relive the moment or wish things were still the same. If I were to say I miss you, it does not mean I need you here. It means I would not mind if you came back, but it also means I will be alright if you do not.

Write a poem, make it a song recall a face and call it a day. Be it in the past when you’re still a child be it today as you sit by my side be it in the future, when your hair is white, if a writer falls in love, you are immortalized.
