“Oh my Nova, THERE ARE SALTY SHARKS ON THA LOOSE!!” The King almost had himself a fit, flailing his arms backwards like a panicky duck upon the sight of the predator. He pushed back splashes of water upfront as a pathetic attempt to get away from the shark, even though he read some guides on what really to do when face-to-face with one of those terrors of the deep.

However, he felt his heart resume to beating at its normal pace upon the creature stopped. Out of all monsters, the smallest one had to resist the shark. 

“That there brute got himself beat by a baby in bandages.” Dedede remarked as his tired little mind began to process what has happened the moment he brought up gym practise for the monstrous girls. After getting himself pushed from the window and ruining his only robe, the King almost got himself suffering at the end of a shark, only with two duplicated heads. That was the last of his concerns; the mummy addressed him as Mr., which made him feel of importance.

“I guess we call of sparrin’ an’ stick t’swimmin’… ngh, even though it ain’t tha ideal of areas to do such.”

The radio was turned on, bringing up his favourite workout soundtrack which happened to be his theme tune from a certain tournament. “Aw, I love this here ‘un! C’mon, ghouls! Come an’ follow me!” Then, he stood up straight, and began leaning left and right, fingers nearly reaching his thighs, as those were his warm-up stretches. Soon, he was already doing jumps, which happened to cause some very minor earthquakes as they were minuscule re-enactments of his moveset.

Then shriek like laughter was heard from the girls as the ground started to shake under Dedede’s stomps. All of them attempting to make the ground shake as well.

Tanis even clapped as she was slightly bounced but the moments.

They then skipped towards the school and within a minute, they were bringing the entire stock of the gymnasium towards the King and the monstrous pupils. Of course, they didn’t seem to mind the presence of monsters in front of him.

“Well, m’bandaged buddy, look whut they can do.” he added, where the Waddle Dee’s ran to work in a flash. The soldiers ran from one tree to another until they stopped to finally show what they’ve had in store for them; it was a glorious sight for some to behold, where the Waddle Dee’s managed to create an outdoor gymnasium. “Now, we can work out under tha sun… say, ugh… y’all ghouls are okay with tha sun? Dun’ some of ya feel all weak when exposed to a flurry ball of fire?”

The girls watched as the Waddle Dees assembled the outdoor gym for them, and even clapped when they were done.

At Dedede’s question Sibella smiled.

So far, he’s been charged at, shoved into a river, almost devoured and unintentionally poisoned, set on fire and most of all, terrified left, right and centre. The teenager could have taken this up with a therapist, but all of this would have to be processed later on, probably after he departs the premises. At this point, he wanted to laugh and he let out a good guffaw.

“A’ight, fun’s over. Now, let’s all get t’where we were. Mind if I bring ‘long some backup?” Then he thrust both hands forward where some creatures burst out magically; couple of orange pear-shaped blobs with peach-coloured and mouthless faces, an orange spherical creature with one big eye and a large purple metal ball covered in yellow spikes.

Little did they know was that his movements were being monitored and reported towards someone… someone that some have clashed with before. The minion sent out to spy was whispering into the withered ear of an old foe, telling facts of a portly young human whose friends with the monster girls.

At seeing the Waddle Dees appear the girls clapped, reacting more like they’d just witnessed Dedede do a cool trick instead of pulling beings across worlds. Although, considering the girls were monsters living in a magic castle  that probably was what it was to them.

Winnie leaned over one of them and sniffed the strange creature curiously.

“So what are these guys?”

Phantasma clasped her hands together.

Weird creatures were also normal when back in Dream Land, so as long as these new friends of the King didn’t attack, they were on neutral terms.

“They look a bit odd for soldiers. Although, I shouldn’t judge a bat by it’s wings.”

Tanis turned to Dedede curiously.

The words that left his lips were incomprehensible rants and gibberish. The moment he already felt himself finally safe was only until his eyes fell upon the ways how they were dousing his fiery robe. “Grnnnngh…! Aw nah, not like that…! Aww, now it’s gonna smell of soil for tha rest of tha day. I’m gonna wash it up in tha moat an’ leave it for tha shark in case they use it as a hankie… hnnngh!!” Laying in his position, the King watched the whole procedure take place and with cheeks beginning to glow, he got up.

Thankfully he seemed to find the humor in it as well and it wasn’t long until they were all laughing again.

Meanwhile a black bat like creature with spindly spider legs made its way from the Grimwood school and deep into a dark swamp.

It entered a cave and landed on a scaly, gnarled hand.

Dedede normally doesn’t intend to come off as rude as he was the pampered type growing up. Being raised by silent and loyal Waddle Dee’s didn’t exactly make him the most perfect of royals but he never meant any real harm. Saying remarks about being in a school full of monsters was one thing but order about a dragon was taking the cake.

As such, he was going to suffer the consequences. “Make it a simmer like yer gonna stir up a stew… mmm… that there idea dun’ sound t’bad…” he said, feeling his stomach give off the slightest grumble.

Well, he was getting himself warm and toasty but perhaps a bit much? “Hmmm… that’s whut I call a blazin’ blow dry, heh heh… ugh? Is someone burnin’ up their barbecue?” His nose picked up the scent so when he looked behind… “AAAHHH!! FIRE!! ON M’FINERY!! GETITOFF GETITOFF GETITOFF!!!!” Then he started dashing out of there, dragging behind the ends ablaze!! “CALL THA BLAZIN’ BRIGADE!!”

As soon as Dedede realized he was on fire and started freaking out the girls burst into laughter. However, they did eventually calm down and run after him to help put out the fire.

Not that he made it easy with his running around and flailing.

Eventually Phantasma was able to phase the burning robe off him and Sibella smothered it with the dirt from a nearby dead plant.

“Uhhh, scream beans?” The thought of little baked beans yelling in one’s face brought some uneasiness into his system. “I dunno if I’d prefer eatin’ outta trash can or beans bawlin’ when I’m ‘bout to devour ‘em…” he uttered, feeling his complexion turning pale by the mere sound of mentioning those types of beans within a soup. Feeling a twinge go down his spine, he shook his navy hair.

“Wait, matches? MATCHES?” he froze within his spot, gripping his robe where fingers unintentionally squeezed the water out of the fabric. “Why d’ya wanna set m’robe on fire? That’s gonna do worse than warmin’ it up, don’cha think?!” he exclaimed with eyes of confusion and weariness.

“Oh no, the beans don’t scream they just have the side effect of causing the person eating them to scream. It’s quite cathartic after a long day.”

At Dedede’s confusion over her suggestion on how to dry out his clothes she became confused as well.

“Matches knows better than to use actual fire when drying someone off.”

She squinted before realizing something.

“Have you not met Matches yet?”

She then called out down the hall.

“Matches!”

A tiny green dragon, about the size of a beagle, appeared from around the corner and ran over to them.

“Good boy Matches, do you mind drying the girls off after they spent the day in the mote again?”

Matches nodded and sent a cloud of warm air over the girls drying their hair and clothes instantly. Which had the side effect of causing all hair and fur to fluff up much to Winnie’s displeasure.

“Wow… a dragon? Un’ of those roastin’ reptiles?! Ya know whut they really breathe out their yaps, dun’ ya?”

He took a massive step back, hoping that the girls knew what they were getting themselves into. Upon watching the assistance unfold, his opinion immediately went through a change and he stepped forward. “Well, sign me up for tha next blow dry, cos’ I’ll be needin’ triple time here!” he made his way forward. “Step aside, fluffy. I’m gonna need tha full monty.” He said, stepping past the puffed-up werewolf who’d laughing at her expense. “Now, listen here, greenie. Gonna need yer full attention, here. Gimme tha same breeze whut ya bellowed for those gals, but ten times faster. Somethin’ tells me y’all be able to dry m’robe out like a desert.”

However, when Dedede turned his back to him Matches’ face broke into a large grin.

Well he did say he wanted his robes dry ten times faster. Who was he to deny what was wanted?

A good shiver crawled down his spine, causing his back to arch from the very particular thought. He just hoped that there were some edible stuff out there… or should he really pick something off the table?

“None of those today, unfortunately. We will being having a warm meal of scream bean soup, something I’m told is more palatable to non-monsters.”

“Oh and don’t worry about your clothes. Matches can dry them off in no time.”

She then frowned.

“Okaaaay, bye…” the King awkwardly raised a hand as he watched the monsters leave the room like cats scattering from a noise. “Take it y’got terrifyin’ teachah’s in this here school?” asked the King, before he knelt down to the Waddle Dee’s.

“Need y’guys to help me with tha car, ‘kay?” Once they nodded, the King grinned and stood up straight. “I can get bring some stuff over here! Like a boxin’ ring, bags, dumbbells, all ya see when y’wanna have a weighted workout!”

Ms. Grimwood chuckled as she saw the girls run off.

“Terrifying is what we try to achieve here.”

She then nodded to Dedede’s suggestions.

When he mentioned he’d be stepping out Ms. Grimwood nodded.

“Of course.”

“I can’t wait for our vacation in Hawaii.”

“Rah.”

Shaggy and Scooby were laying across their seats in Hawaiian shirts and coconut drinks in their hands.

“Like I can’t wait to try all that authentic Hawaiian food. Poi, Lau Lau, Pipi Kaula.”

Scooby got a dreamy look as he thought of all the foods Shaggy listed.

Daphne just rolled her eyes at the two and smiled.

“Actually now that I think about it, this flight has been a lot longer than that it said it would be.”

Just then the auto pilot came over the speakers.

“If you look out to your left you’ll see the beautiful Himalaya mountains.”

“Himalayas? That can’t be right.”

Daphne looked out the window and sure enough snow capped mountains could be seen.

“Kay, guys! This here be Shiver Star mountain! There surely must be some signs of human up there! I wanna let ya know that this means a whole lot to me, so dun’ let me down!” the one in charge said, answered by the two companions.

“Sire!” yelled the one with a shell that had extra hooks and items strapped around. “Are ya sure this is a good idea?”

“Certainly, Escargoon! Dun’ duck out on me right now ‘cos I need to make sure! Dun’ forget that y’all armed with Drifters case ya do slip an’ fall! Are ya with me, Escargoon?” he held out a hand, holding it flat, and answered with a mittened paw. “Waddle Doo?” he was answered the same but down below, as the small one’s stubby paw touched his palm. All three gave a nod and turned to see the mountain.

“Bad news guys, looks like we’re going to be stuck here a while. I’m pretty sure we flew over a town about a mile or two back. We should be able to get help there.”

“You like want us to hike down the side of a snow covered mountain?”

“You got any better ideas?”

Shaggy deflates.

“Do we at least have something warm to wear? We packed for serf not snow.”

“There are emergency coats and boots in the storage with the parachutes. Come on.”

“Okaaaay, bye...” the King awkwardly raised a hand as he watched the monsters leave the room like cats scattering from a noise. “Take it y’got terrifyin’ teachah’s in this here school?” asked the King, before he knelt down to the Waddle Dee’s.

“Need y’guys to help me with tha car, ‘kay?” Once they nodded, the King grinned and stood up straight. “I can get bring some stuff over here! Like a boxin’ ring, bags, dumbbells, all ya see when y’wanna have a weighted workout!”

Ms. Grimwood chuckled as she saw the girls run off.

She then nodded to Dedede’s suggestions.

Fred picked up the phone as it ended it’s second ring.

“Mystery Inc. Fred speaking.”

Fred listened to the man on the other end of the call.

“‘EY!” He pointed a finger directly to this face, asserting his authority over the group. “That’s KING Man to ya, surfer-boy!” The King obviously took note of his accent, in spite of his own, but there were more important things at matter. There was a direct ghost in his castle and he had to meet the one in charge.

So, the King peered in where they could see his giant black eyes with blue tints peer through the rolled-down window and match a glance with the one in charge. “Y’all must be Fred! Tha one on the other side of tha phone! Come on outta here so I can greet y’all formally!” He didn’t pay much attention towards the other two at first, before he stepped back.

Waddle Dee watched the sniffing nose, where if Scooby’s was good, then he could smell… peaches. It was ironic considering the creature looked like one… So, as the Waddle Dee inspected the dog, he lifted his stubby little arm to give a little poke towards the nose. It was wet… a good time.

“Uh like sorry King Man sir.”

Shaggy watched as Dedede walked over to the front door then turned to watch Scooby and the Waddle Dee.

“Uh yes.”

Fred got out of the van followed by Daphne and Velma. Velma eyed Dedede curiously as if he were an equation to solve.

“I’m Fred, this is Daphne and Velma and the two that just fell out of the back are Shaggy and Scooby. Now you said something about a ghost over the phone?”

Scooby was still preoccupied with the Waddle Dee. He was surprised that it not only looked like a peach but smelled like one too.

“Huh… justah beach sport… Then,… ah, I hope this here works, but whut ‘bout boxin’? Ain’t y’all interested in takin’ up boxin’ for a round tha ring? I bet y’all be interested when I show y’all howzit done!” he clasped his hands together with a grin across his features, before he faced the one in charge, Miss Grimwood.

“Whut say ya? I swear that I ain’t gonna sock ‘em at all, but show ‘em tha ropes.”

The girls look at each other then to Miss Grimwood. They had no idea what Dedede was talking about but were curious all the same.

Miss Grimwood looked thoughtful.

“Well I don’t see what the harm is in showing them. It’ll have be during gym class though since the girls do have other classes they need to go to.”
