With the magical occurance of "climate change", this left Dream Land in a state of both pounding heat and blinding sandstorms. Well, Dedede was always prepared for certain weathers like these; currently, he was clothed in a robe that resembled his usual attire, only with a hood, while a pair of goggles protected his vision. With his yellow boots which contained rough soles planted across the sandy terrain, he allowed his form to rest, hunching his posture to where his chin was kissing his sternum.
"Jus' why did it have t'be a desert an' notta beach? Whut won't I give for 'un dive in cool, shimmering... absorbin'... huh. Gettin' hungry, swingin' mallets under suns give ya quite tha appetitite. gah! Now, I know how Kirby felt back in Rock Star. Next thing, I'll be seein' mirages or that there stranger..."
She wasn't a mirage. She was real.
He shared a brief glance with her, before returning to his previous pose, only for a brief while. "Huh?! WHUH?" Panicked out of his wits, the King jolted, stumbling to a fall, bringing the mallet downwards. With the handle lying on his chest, he took a few seconds to recapture his composure.
Dedede looked at her briefly, right before jumping to his feet in a flash; thank goodness for his strong oxygen.
"Ha!! We playin' twenty questions here? First o', y'can say that there 'gain! I dun' get how we gettin' alla those pirouettin' plants, as I know that Whispy Woods didn't getta shift in tha flora chain! Nothin' like a hammer an' some herbicide!"
Then he leaned back, crossing both arms around his chest. "Secon', whu'dya mean 'whut am I doin' here'? In case y'ain't heard o' me, an' I person'ly pity ya if not, but I'm tha King 'round here these parts, King Dedede o' Dream Land. Now, m'turn to ask those there las' t'questions, I dun' remembah seein' y'round here, 'specially when we got all covered in this here... sand, huh!"
Nabooru raised a crimson eyebrow, picking out the terms and phrases that mattered in the rest of the nonsense this so-called king spewed. Whispy Woods, Dream Land...two places that lacked all familiarity in her mind. Wherever it was, the stranger did not realize he was no longer in either of them.
" I hate to break it to you, King Dedede, but you're not in this...Dream Land or Whispy Woods anymore, " she informed him with a click of her tongue. " This is the Gerudo Desert, west of a place called Hyrule. My people's territory. "
Gold eyes surveyed the area around her, searching for another wave of monsters to assail them, before falling on the goggled king once more. " Now, tell me: how did you get here? Answer, and I might not have you locked up. "
His hands slid the goggles off his face so that he could get a better look at the very figure in front of him. With his enlarged oceanic oracles, they stared exactly at who was in front of him... before they began to check around the entire domain.
Well,... it was surely Dream Land for sure!
"Ah-huh." he sarcastically exclaimed, before taking a huge sidestep to reveal what behind them but was miles away; a grand castle stood tall across a hill in order to establish such importance across its inhabitant's subjects.
From his 5'5 height, the King surely tried to make himself look taller. With an instructing thumb, he pointed at the very castle that towered over the entire country. It was like there were two opposing castles that were built to be at war against each-other.
"Take a look-sie~ See that there castle crib waaaaay over there? That there's mine an' it happenin' to be rulin' over tha roost. That there's pristine proof that this here's Dream Land, so ya are tha real stranger here, ain't me!"
He tried to add that as a way to back himself up. Releasing the goggles from over his eyes, he stared at her with large sapphire oracles.
"Sooooo, who are ya s'pose t'be? An' where did'ja come from? An' what can y'tell me 'bout this here..." then he pinched a bit before sprinkling the grains through his thumb and index finger. "Saaaaand? This here's country's DREAM Land, not Sand Land. Dun' have nah ring to it...!" Grimacing at the fake name, he tilted his chin upwards a tad.
