Apparently according to the concept art, instead of turning ordinary objects into weapons it looks as though Hamato Ninpo was originally supposed to let Hamato Clan members summon weapons from their soul
The possibility that the Turtle’s weapons could have originally been summoned through their Ninpo is an interesting concept & kind of shows how their weapons are part of them.
Something I’ve been wondering about is if the Rise version of the Hamato Clan has multiple symbols as in the episode Hot Soup The Game we see a sword with the 2012 version of the Hamato Clan symbol
Rise is known for giving nods to other versions of TMNT so the 2012 version of the Hamato Clan symbol appearing in the episode could simply be a nod to the 2012 show especially since a statue of Ice Cream Kitty appears in the same scene

However even though the 2012 version of the Hamato Clan symbol appearing in Rise might simply be a nod to the 2012 show something that also makes me wonder if the Hamato Clan has multiple symbols is the concept art for Rise
The concept art shows the Turtles with different outfits & markings for their fully Unlocked Hamato Ninpo looks & also shows the Turtles with a different Hamato Clan symbol that instead of the symbol that we see in the show the Hamato Clan symbol in the concept art instead looks like a flower
The flower that appears as the Hamato Clan symbol in the concept art looks very similar to the flower that was worn on Splinter’s robe in season 1 so it could be that the flower is a variation of the Hamato Clan symbol
A lot of the team who worked on the 2012 series also worked on Rise which is why both Hamato Clan symbols look similar, both symbols are supposed to look similar to a Pizza with five slices (representing Splinter & the Turtles) however the 2012 symbol is more stylised & is supposed to also look like a Turtle & a Bell Flower.
The fact that the 2012 Hamato Clan symbol was supposed to look similar to a Bell Flower means that it’s possible that the flower that we see on Splinter’s robe in season 1 & in the concept art could have possibly been a version of the Hamato Clan symbol. It’s possible that the flower that we see on Splinter’s robe in season one, could have originally been intended to be the Hamato Clan symbol for Rise but then the Hamato Clan symbol was changed in order to look more like the 2012 version
I really prefer the 2012 symbol or the concept art symbol over the official rise symbol. Rise’s symbol looks too much like a pizza to me and also feels kinda boring as opposed to the 2012 and concept symbols which look more like flowers, I think they are very pretty.

Tired: Leo doesn't know how to play chess, while Donnie does.
Wired: Leo does know how to play, and he and Donnie sometimes play it together to bond (only when Leo is incredibly bored and doesn't have anything else to do otherwise).
Inspired: Leo knows how to play chess insanely well, to the point of winning almost every match, but just acts like he doesn't because 1.) it's fun to let Donnie think he's won sometimes, and 2.) he knows playing dumb pisses Donnie off beyond belief and it's hilarious to watch him fume.

Oh I have been waiting for someone to ask me something like this, you have no idea. Putting this ESSAY under a cut oops I wrote a ton (if the cut even works, sometimes they dont)
I am very aware of the norm of the usual take of Future Leo AU's, it was all those AU's and fics that mad inspired me after all! They are all so good and play on a very interesting concept! Issue is, it ended up being the only take I ended up seeing. With the whole future and present self having some form of resentment towards eachother even if it was just a little bit, or for only a short period of time. I honestly needed a fresh breath of air and it came to my attention as time went on that other readers also needed a breath of fresh air. So uh, I very much saw the opportunity here and took it, with the added bonus of it being in comic form since theres so many fics out there.
Yes my comic is absolutely the opposite of the norm and I plan on keeping it like that, I made it the opposite of the norm for a reason, and the reason definitely shows through the sheer numbers and attention I have been getting on this thing! I am so happy so many people are enjoying the series! I am so glad to heal everyones wounds from the anguish of the usual plotlines haha!
Sidenote, I would actually highly recommend this post by pinetreevillain, read the tags, words things better than I ever could. Not just the OP's tags, all the reblog tags too.
(There may have been fics were the Leos were actually nice to eachother, but either I did not hear of them/see them, or they were just overall not popular enough to be well known and recognized for the good relationship)
I understand that such a fast change in character meanwhile does not happen overnight. This here is probably the biggest issue I have within the series, though I do have a little bit of reasoning.
I am just going to be flat out honest, I personally find it hard for myself to sit and read through something about characters arguing, it makes me weirdly uneasy. Something something about characters who love eachother yelling it out just hits me in a way I try to avoid whoops. So if I find it hard to read something like that, it is even harder for me to write and draw it out myself, there will be no forms of these sorts situations in the series because of that. Though this does tie back into me trying to avoid the norm, having everyone be kind to Leo after the movie is a take you do not see often.
I actually attempted addressing the movie aftermath with Raph and Leo with this comic, it was the whole point on why I made the comic! Because yes! I These two really did need some new take, my own take, on the aftermath. I wanted to show in that comic that Raph is not mad, happy actually, that Leo managed to pull himself together for such an act. Leo proved on that day that he knew what he was doing, how to care for a team, and that he was truly meant for his role as the leader.
Final little point: Lets be honest I dont think anyone will have the guts to even be mad at Leo after he sacrificed himself and his arm to save everyone. How could anyone be mad at that? Outside the fear or loosing him of course

But also, your comment about the arguing sparked my desire to share something I’ve been thinking about lately. I don’t have an issue with characters arguing or fighting like you do, but I have noticed some of the banter in these fics don’t sit well with me. The brothers joking about not trusting Leo or jokes about killing him off or removing him from the team in a fic that takes place post movie really bother me cause even though Leo probably knows his brothers are joking, and it’s accurate to jokes that siblings in real life make, I think after the events of the movie Leo wouldn’t be able to not take them personally. Like I hurt for him. I’ve found a big part of good banter is not crossing into actual insecurities a person has or may have. I banter with coworkers and friends all the time but I know their triggers and they know mine so we can stay away from them. It feels very insensitive to me when the brothers banter like this and it’s not addressed. Examples from fics I love and would highly recommend regardless of this issue I have with them are “There must be something in the water” and “Mutant Ninja Midlife Crisis”
Versus a fic that does the family banter like this occasionally but addresses that it’s actually a trigger for Leo and something that should be avoided is “Would it Really Matter?”
To be clear, I am not saying writing them this way = bad writing. It’s just a thing that makes me personally feel uncomfortable and I’m wondering if anyone else feels this way.

I store them in the fridge like a sane person because I live in the US and commercially sold eggs in the US go through a washing and sanitatization process that removes something from the shell called the cuticle which is what stops harmful bacteria from getting inside. Therefore, in order to protect from the development of bacteria, including salmonella, commercially sold eggs in the US need to stay refrigerated to be safe.
If you collect your own eggs, buy from someone who doesn't go through the wash-and-sanitize, or live in... most other countries, then you're good to store your eggs out of the fridge. But seriously if you're in the US buying at the grocery store, KEEP YOUR EGGS IN THE FRIDGE.
What I'm getting from this post is that there may be a disproportionate amount of people on this site who live in countries like the US and Canada where eggs go through a sanitization process. This is actually really interesting. Has anyone done a poll yet to try and get an idea of the demographics of users according to countries in the world?
