James woke up to a scream. A raw, terrified, high-pitched sound that rang like an alarm in Jamesâs ear as he sprang out of bed and ran out his bedroom door into the nursery. Lily wasnât home. For the first time in months, she went out on order business Mary and Remus. Which meant James was left to care for Harry, not James minded. He didn't mind at all. Harry was a sweet baby and even if he wasn't, he was Jamesâs baby. But the nightmares were hard. It wasnât Harryâs fault that his father couldnât handle seeing his son in pain but it still hurt James to see.
âOh, amor, cĂĄllateâ James said as he picked Harry up and held him against his chest. âSh, sh, I got you. I got you, Papaâs here, Iâm right hereâ James whispered as he rocked Harry, âshh, shh.Â
Its ok, its ok. Everythingâs alright. Weâre safe. The bad manâs gone, he didn't take me or momma, weâre safeâ James whispered as he held Harry and walked downstairs. He grabbed Harryâs blanket and wrapped him up before heading downstairs.Â
âEstĂĄs a salvo, hijoâ James spoke as Harryâs cries grew softer. He opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle Lily made before she left. Order business with Remus and Mary direct orders from Dumbledore, though the purpose was unclear. Why did he thought it necessary for Lily to leave for two days when she had a breastfed baby? James didn't know. Nothing seemed more important than Harry right now, especially after the attack.Â
James sat down on the couch and held the bottle up to Harryâs mouth âcomer bebĂŠâ he whispered.Â
