Karkat Vantas gets assigned to be the head of a charity program at the university he's attending. To his displeasure, this means he has to work with Dave Strider, another student at the university, who helps the school with media managment. Despite a rocky start, the two develop a friendship and stay in touch after the project, and something more blossoms between them.
