INKïYAH "TRIBAL MERFOLK" || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the InKïyah or the Tribal Merfolk. The InKïyah are one of the most evolved merfolk in the Sea, having their own written language, tools and weapons, and a specific lifestyle. The InKïyah live in and out of the water, and have many villages among tropical islands. The InKïyah are reasonable and peaceful among themselves and other tribes. However, they are very hostile to invading creatures, specifically humans. The InKïyah will often attack and pillage ships, in order to protect the lands and seas that are theirs. The InKïyah have mastered weaponry, bone daggers being their weapon of choice.

KELPIE || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the Kelpie. Kelpies are a shy type of merfolk that reside in the thick kelp forests of the Sea. Kelpies are very curious creatures, and have been known to help pearl divers from drowning. The Kelpies are a very social species, creating communities within the Kelp Forests where they care for their young. Kelpies are very docile and rarely will harm humans or other creatures.

SHRARGOS || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the Shrargos aka the Shark Folk. The Shrargos are one of the most brutal, violent, and sinister creatures of the Sea. They are extremely arrogant, and will often depict themselves as the Kings of the Sea. Shrargos are often seen aligning themselves with devious characters, such as Pirates or Sea Witches. Shrargos are creatures of brute strength, and rely little on intelligence, often making them "the muscle" of the their group. Shrargos are the mortal enemies of Seamurms, who are the exact opposite of their culture and are considered a threat to their way of life.

ELVES (DARKWOOD FOREST)

Introducing the Elves. Elves are good natured creatures that enjoy to explore every edge of the forest. Elves are naturally musical, especially with flutes. They often travel with them and and play to sooth other creatures. Elves are known as the Big Siblings of Gnomes, whom they are often taking care of and checking in on. Elves are considered Light Fae.

BRINEOPOD || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the Brineopod. Brineopods are scavengers from the ocean floor. They are also known as the Keepers of the Deep, as their food source is the remains of the dead that descend into the depths. Brineopods usually live in larger groups, to avoid predators such as Draggers and other dangers that lurk in the dark shadows of the Deep.

RIVER MERFOLK || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the River Merfolk. These creatures live in the freshwater rivers, lochs, and occasional swamps. River Merfolk are rarely seen out of their habitat, and live in social communities where they tend for the bodies of water they reside in. River Merfolk are docile creatures, but also very timid of humans. They will disappear beneath the murky depths with a splash no bigger than that made by a leaping frog. However they are also very curious creatures, and will silently watch from their watery sanctuary.

KIA'I SOUL || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing the Kia'i Soul. Kia'i Souls are one of the most tragic creatures of the Sea. Kia'i is the word for lost in Polynesian, which is exactly what these creatures are. They are the lost souls of drowned children taken by the Sea. Often taken pity on by Seamurms, they are transformed by the Seamurm's magic into guardians, and are given the choice to live among the Seamurms, or wander the vastness of the Sea. In some places, Kia'i Souls have created communities for themselves. As they are children, they enjoy exploring and collecting trinkets and shiny treasure when found in sunken ships. For this reason they have many encounters with pirates, and will defend their homes from them.

DRAGGER || INTO THE DEEP

Introducing The Dragger. Draggers are a nocturnal sub dweller species that is primary found in the deepest fathoms of the Sea. Their skin is sleek and pale due to their realm's lack of sunlight, and are armed with razor sharp teeth, impeccable sensory ears, and their sonar intelligence. They live in aquatic subterranean caves and caverns, and have a lifestyle similar to those of ants and bees. Draggers derived their name from sailors and shipwrecked humans due the fact that these creatures would drag them into the depths to be eaten. Draggers are very territorial and refuse to associate with other creatures other than their own kind. To them, the other creatures are only seen as two things......enemy....or food.
