Honestly, as a German I can not quite understand the obsession of the English speaking world with the question whether a word exists or not. If you have to express something for which there is no word, you have to make a new one, preferably by combining well-known words, and in the very same moment it starts to exist. Agree?

had a dream that someone was showing me this camera that could render anything it photographed "flawless." So like it could remove blemishes from people's faces, but also if you took a picture of a cracked glass there would be no crack in the resulting image.
Obviously this is kind of existentially horrifying but that's not the point of this post.

my science fair project in fifth grade was basically i had this printout of a bunch of toys that were stereotypically boy toys and girl toys, and i would have my classmates study the sheet for some short period of time, idr if it was like 30 seconds or a minute or whatever, then put it away and had them recall to me as many toys as they could remember. my hypothesis was officially that boys would remember more boy toys and girls would remember more girl toys, but secretly in my head i knew that girls would probably remember boy toys and girl toys relatively equally but boys would still remember mostly boy toys. and that ended up being the case. and i still remember this 20 years later because it hasn’t fucking stopped. and you know what they didn’t even like my project. participation ribbon. i was a fifth grade feminist theorist and no one cared

Today I am doing this with a thought experiment:
Imagine arguing with a tech bro about whether a well-designed system is one with redundancy and backup-systems instead of a single point of failure, or one that simply has zero points of failure.
For me at least this is obvious - everything has a potential point of failure, especially when the people who design it, people who craft it, and people who use it, are not necessarily the same people (as is the case with most technology).
It's wise to hope for the best (zero points of failure) but prepare for the worst (many potential points of failure) with backups and redundancies to compensate.
mental tech bro: no, you should just make a system that functions perfectly at all times and only work with people who never make mistakes ever. It's a perfect system and human failure won't happen if you don't hire people who fail at things. Just do everything perfectly every time at all times forever.
I don't think I know anybody like that.

hey! after your multitude of posts about dressing in black and silver (and the picture of the goth jorts), as someone who is currently collecting soda can tabs for a chain to put on a pair of jeans, i was wondering how you made your clothes, relevant search keywords... pretty much anything that would let me steal your look. tysm!
Go to a thrift shop, take everything with black fabric or silver chain of any sort, see if there's any old worn-to-shit purses that have clips, chains, buttons, studs, decorative buckles and zippers and stuff that are still good even though the fabric is gone, and anything with studs of any sort, get them all for like 12 euros for the whole raid, go home, take them apart (seam ripper, pliers, etc recommended) and then construct something new out of them.
You can get an old shitty cardboard-and-fake-leather studded belt, pry off the studs and buckles, and throw the dregs out. You can cut the black fabric of whatever you grabbed into strips and sew the buckles on it so you've got a new belt you can sew on something, and put the studs on something new.
