When someone is struggling with any form of mental health and you dont understand it, just do us all a favor and be quiet. Being condescending doesnt help. Criticizing doesnt help. Making it about you doesn't help. Saying snap out of it doesn't help. Asking what do you have to be depressed about doesnt help. We don't choose be or have any of what we are dealing with. It takes a special kind of person WHO CHOOSES to go to school and become mental health professionals to help us and we dont expect everyone to understand or to choose to understand what is happening to us. What we hope and want is respect. We beat ourselves up on our own every waking minute of every day already.
