Basically, your tv viewing doesn’t count for anything BUT your social media/online activity DOES. Don’t give the inauguration any attention, treat it like the sham it is. Don’t post anything on tumblr or twitter or facebook relating to trump or the presidency. Don’t watch online videos of his speech or reblog gifs of him, he loves that, especially if you are opposed to him.

But do spread news about the protests! Please don’t ignore our comrades in the streets!

This is not true lol I was in a class called Understanding Media Measurement where we learned all about the collection of ratings. Watching without a Nielson box does count as ratings.

do you ever sit and think about your female ancestors and like how many of them endured forced marriages, sexual abuse, physical violence and complete deprivation of education and autonomy and suffered silently for literally centuries. going through pregnancies and child birth without modern medicine, having multiple children and watching most of them die before the age of five because that was just the way of life back then? and ultimately you are a product of their pain? i think about them a lot and then i think about how many women continue to share their reality in this current year
