Request: Chishiya headcanon with an Autistic (Autistic spectrum: Asperger's Syndrome) S/O.

Thank you for your request! And yes, I am open to requests <3 I hope this is along the lines of what you hoped for! (This is quite generalised because everyone's experience is different, but nevertheless, thank you for the request and enjoy~)

 Chishiya headcanon with an Autistic (Asperger's syndrome) S/O.

Chishiya is observant of everyone he encounters, so when meeting you, his initial reaction would be to try and figure you out. He’d pick up on your social reactions and quirks quickly, watching how you interacted with others and himself. Likely, this would be to try and understand the things he noticed, but also to see if he could use you to his advantage. However, the more time he spends around you, the more he’d simply just want to interact with you and not ‘evaluate your potential’.

To him, you would be intriguing because of your attentive focus on things and how detail oriented you were in the games. Your perspective was often different from those around the two of you, and he would find that relatable, making him realise he was gravitating towards you naturally.

He would respect your boundaries and make sure others did too.

When you first started spending time alone together, you would both realise how easy it was to be around each other. Chishiya is a good listener, and patient, and while he doesn’t speak excessively, he would find himself being able to talk more openly with you. 

One of his favourite things would become listening to how passionately you talked about things. The more time you both spent together the more he learnt about your interests, and fixations. You could talk, losing track of time, hands moving around passionately with a gleam in your eyes, and admittedly he’d sometimes tune out, but it was only because he’d get lost in your eyes, a small smile unknowingly moving up his face.

When you became a couple, he would love how you only opened up the way you did, around him. That you didn’t always have a shield up the way you did around others. Trust wasn’t naturally his thing, but he would be very protective over your trust for each other. 

Romantically, he wouldn’t be the ‘big gesture’ kind of guy. He followed your lead on things and understood the importance of not rushing each other or overstepping what you were both comfortable with. He would like leaving you little notes, finding books or trinkets that you liked, and taking you places he thinks you'd both like to visit.

For example; he'd take you up to the top of a building where you could look over the city and watch the sun set together.

In a place like Borderland, life wasn’t exactly calm, and when it came to you he would be especially protective. Knowing the anxiousness and sensory overload you dealt with had him no longer only looking out for himself. He’d try to help minimise things that could be too much for you, as best he could, and if things got too much, he’d hope his presence alone was some reassurance.

He would be extremely hesitant to admit, and would never let anyone but you know how much of an impact you had on him, and how scared he was at the chance of losing you. No one understood him the way you did, and he was determined to get the both of you out of the Borderland, together.

He would likely try to manipulate you for his own benefit in the beginning, before getting to know you. Only after seeing potential in you he’d want to get to know you better. Then, he’d become especially protective of you.

Would pick up the meanings of your facial expressions quickly and find your reactions to things amusing. Despite not wanting to, he’d always end up looking at you with a small fond smile.

Would dedicate his free time to learn sign language in order to communicate with you easier- and would then help you teach Kuina as well so the three of you would be able to wordlessly communicate anywhere without anyone understanding.

Thought you would be a quiet person overall, but then finds it both mildly annoying and amusing how loud you can be when clattering around your room.

Enjoys spending time with you in silence and doesn’t feel the need to talk more in order to fill it, rather valuing just being in each other's presence. He’d find you very easy to be around.

Would tell you something and then turn and walk away so you couldn’t fight him on it. Most likely it was something he wanted/needed you to do that he wasn’t going to do himself.

He’d be taken by surprise that he didn’t figure it out sooner.

Would be impressed by how well you kept it hidden and how it didn’t seem to hinder your performance in the games.

If he found out before the two of you became close, he’d probably see you as a weakness and completely dismiss you until you proved yourself, then he’d most likely find a way to use it as an advantage- because he can turn anything into an advantage.

Would check in on you more often during and after games, despite pretending that he didn’t care, and after finding out he’d feel more protective over you.

Would read up more about your condition in his free time and try to subtly accommodate you if needed; would want to make things easier for you without you knowing he cared.

Would still call you a nuisance if you got in his way, but secretly cared about you more than anyone else.
