Do you guys ever had the problem of your queue eating your posts? Instead of publishing the post at the time itβs supposed to, the queue apparently just deletes your posts? And sometimes you spent a lot of time writing a reply to the post, or maybe the post was an original post that you spent a lot of time writing and now itβs apparently lost because Tumblr somehow ate it?
So, I think I found a solution to this problem. The post isnβt actually deleted and lost forever. Itβs still in your queue/drafts, but invisible to you. But you can find the post if you go to your Mass Post Editor:
There, you have the option of editing your published posts, your drafted posts, or your queued posts. If Tumblr ate one of your posts, it could still be there (not always though, Iβve had times in which my queue simply deleted a post and I couldnβt find it anymore). After going to the Mass Post Editor, you just have to find the post. Now, maybe you donβt know which post your queue ate. But itβs easy to find out, because if your queue ate a post some time ago, it will probably be amongst the older posts.
After you find the post that Tumblr ate (either in your drafts or your queue), all you have to do is hover the cursor of your mouse over the post, and see the post number. Then, you just have to type βhttps://www.tumblr.com/edit/(post number)β, and you can edit the post again.
is there a way this works in the app or on mobile? because i canβt figure it out.
I never use Tumblr on app or mobile, so I can't say for sure. But I'd try accessing the mass post editor through your mobile browser (not the app) if possible (like I said, I don't know if it is possible). After you find the post you're looking for, do a long click (which is equivalent to a right click on the mouse) to see if it opens a menu. If the little menu opens, see if you have a "copy link" option. After this, paste the link of the post somewhere so that you can get the post number, then type βhttps://www.tumblr.com/edit/(post number)β on your mobile browser.
