this is probably, to this day, still my favourite vn title menu. i really like that a character talks to you when you close the game (of course mine is set to kanae lol). the first thing i like to do when i start a vn is adjust the settings, which i really like the layout of.

it's almost nostalgic to open up the game and go through everything because it brings me back to when i started the game last year! this was the hardest vn for me to finish, and i would take breaks for months at a time because i couldn't stomach it. in the end, it took me around 9 months to finish every route. but i definitely don't regret it, since i love kanae so much.

i love kanae hokari. i initially started euphoria last year after downloading it because i heard how shocking and gross the game was. genuinely i thought it would be funny to play, but i didn't expect the game to be… kind of good? it's truly repulsive but that is what makes it so memorable. and also smart to draw in players with shock value, because i played it for that exact reason and ended up really liking one of the characters - the villian, at that lmao.

kanae is an exception for being the only villian that i've grown so attached to. idc how cringe this may seem but she is fine shit. the gooners working for this company ate with these character designs because all the girls are so fucking gorgeous. kanae's ribbon she wears on top of her head is a really unique idea and what really made her stand out to me because i have seen A LOT of anime girls over the years. her hair is absolutely adorable, and her voice. oh my god. i love how significantly her tone changes when she reveals her true self and isn't trying to sound all cutesy anymore. i love both her fake and true personas, and for me it only adds to her charm that she has two different sides. that's twice as much kanae for me to enjoy.

first looking at her fake personality, i love how kind, thoughtful and what a loyal friend she is. ngl i wish i was keisuke because i would treat the girls sm better than him lol. kanae is such wife material bc she notices little details about keisuke's mood and is always looking out for him. as for the real her, i was in disbelief when she revealed her true self. kei's seemingly innocent childhood friend is actually the mastermind? and all along the game makes you think it's nemu.

when i finally came around that this was actually the real kanae, i was amazed. i had not seen the twist coming, which is probably my favourite part about euphoria. there are so many instances i am taken by surprise, and i definitely couldn't have predicted this one. kanae's fake persona doesn't slip up even once, so it was just… wow. there were hints with nemu that she wasn't all that she let on, but i feel like it was much more hidden with kanae. i just love her so much, and seeing her in the anime was just <<<3
