I will also say that I think the problems with the movie's casting, costuming, and color grading are all related. Like, Nolan went with the Hollywood Viking aesthetic because he thought Odysseus would look silly in a slutty little bedsheet. And it's like, no, you don't understand: Matt Damon would look silly in a slutty little bedsheet. 40ish Jason Mantzoukas in a thigh-length, rust-colored chiton, olive limbs shining in the Mediterranean sun, would send male-attracted folks everywhere into the stratosphere.

They cannot fucking get over a woman with armpit hair. Rhian has been talking about it in interviews too, because that's how much they've been commenting: on the band's socials, on Youtube under their Glasto performance, under random indie rock accounts talking about their music, under the BBC socials, fucking endless! At one point, Rhian has been saying she's stopped deleting these comments so people can see for themselves how out of pocket the comments from complete strangers who think they should have control over another woman's body were getting (NYLON mag interview).

Anyway, come album release week and Wet Leg are potentially on their way to a #1 UK album, though since it is also Oasis reunion month, they are also being bought expeditiously (Time Flies compilation, decades old, nothing new). Rhian jumps in on this with a video basically saying, "no idea why people are offended by a grown woman not looking pre pubescent but fine, here's a deal: buy the album, if we get to #1 I'll shave the armpit hair."

Thankfully there was equal demand for both moisturizer the album as well as leaving Rhian's armpits unbothered, and so the album finished at the top of the charts and the band posted a very funny post of guitarists Hester and Rhian ceremoniously shaving the armpits of the three men in the band. Many cheers from the girls in the crowd! Many cheers from me!! Resigned acceptance from some of the internet men.

Interestingly, some of the men in the comments were commiserating with the Wet Leg lads: "oof, that's gonna be hell in a week when they start to grow back". That's never a problem when policing a woman's body hair. Curious.
