So, having decided to write something for Glorthelion Week, I am trying to ramp up my fandom motivation. And I thought I would start by rereading some of my existing stories about those two Elves, in canon-chronological order.
And then I thought I might repost the ones I actually enjoy, like this vignette about the two heroes' official introduction.
The main reason I enjoy this story is its brevity. Well, and "Laurefindil"'s character:

first of all, i want to say I LOVE YOUR ART and everything you post!!! and sorry for taking so long to answer because i was trying to figure out the best answer after being starstruck ^_^ and i was super anxious too ahhh but ANYWAY... thank you for the kind welcome!!
some glorthelion headcanons i have...
glorfindel is naturally super warm so ecthelion likes cuddling him in the winter.. neither of them like being cold because of. past experiences. so they cuddle a lot. ecthelion plays his flute for glorfindel, who finds the sound second only to his beloved's voice.
and of course my biggest weakness is hurt/comfort (you're so smart for this btw ) and i ignore the fact that tolkien says that elves cant get sick so that they can take care of each other and cuddle away the sniffles.. have some sick thel ^_^ (i cant help but make him sick sorry milord..)
i headcanon that ecthelion gets sick easily.. and glorfindel knows about herbs due to being a gardener (see below) so he takes care of him. although, when glorfindel gets sick, ecthelion handles it somewhat less than his usual calm due to this not being his expertise. (read: freaking out)
this is sort of a more worldly headcanon (?) i suppose i can go into more detail in a different post, but i imagine that the house of the golden flower is like, gardening / sunshine and the house of the fountain is the plumbing/hydraulic engineers.. long story short, glorfindel is a green thumb and ecthelion is a nerd lol
they are both super self-sacrificing in different ways.. i think ecthelion is constantly destroying himself mentally/physically without realizing like looking at (shudders) fluid dynamics of fountain engineering and glorfindel has to stop him and make him eat and go outside etc. and glorfindel just loves throwing himself into danger for others so ecthelion has to go save the golden idiot..
also headcanon that they have long beautiful hair like princesses. they braid each others' hair. glorfindel likes his own hair a lot and has a bit of a vain streak, whereas ecthelion doesn't even care about his own appearance (which glorfindel finds insane because ecthelion is the 'fairest of the noldor'.. totally not a description that glorfindel made sure was in the history books (joke))
last headcanon, tw for internalized / not internalized homophobia:
i also have sort of a thing with internalized homophobia (because of my own experiences, i tend to relate to this sort of story. it of course does not reflect my opinions, it's just that i grew up in this environment and find it deeply relatable to um. have self hatred over it.. so of course i projected that on to every character.. also if you're reading this do not hate yourself please <3)
i imagine ecthelion especially struggles with it and glorfindel tried really hard to get him to realize its not bad, even when he himself questioned that aspect of himself too. they have friends who support them unconditionally like egalmoth.. please do not hate me for this wahhh..
ok and none of this is even getting into the like, more serious headcanons but i wanted to keep things fluffy for now and just kind of wrote whatever here just so i wouldnt leave you hanging adsjflkajdsflkajdskfl

a little more about me - i used to draw a little before without posting anywhere but i finally decided i wanted to progress in art instead of just drawing the same things (i would just draw characters in a very simple style). it's so easy for me to just draw the same thing over and over without actually getting better, so i made myself actually try to draw different things and actually look at references to try to improve. and even though AI is rampant it makes me happy and proud that i can draw things that i see in my mind more clearly than before. It's really amazing to be here on tumblr because it's filled with tons of amazing artists and i can see so much passion and love everywhere. and i am inspired all the time whenever i look here! and it motivates me to improve my art. so thank you so much for all the art, stories, jokes, and reblogs spreading the beauty everywhere. and thank you for looking at this rambling thing lol jkflsdjflaksdjfls ok bye for now <3
