Damn, I’ve been gone for too long... Seems like my follower count kept growing while I’m away, but sadly I won’t be able to keep up. (About the only legit method they could use now is if they had the story progress through two completely different generations, which would be one hell of a big game. Of course we all did just technically buy three games so it's not like it'd be impossible to pull off.)

I think they did that in Genealogy of the Holy War back in the mid-90s, though. It had a two-part story from what I understand, with the second part mostly being the kids of the first years later. Of course, I haven’t played that or any of the Japan-only titles, but that ideas seems to have already been used for a full game.
