What will the Kingdom of God do?
Jesus taught his disciples to pray for the coming of the Kingdom. Because he knew that the terrible things happening on earth were not God's will, and that the Kingdom of God was the only government that could solve all these problems. So what will the Kingdom of God do? Let's first see what he has done so far.
WHAT HAS GOD'S KINGDOM DONE?
In the previous article, we considered the sign that Jesus spoke of. This sign provides visible proof that the Kingdom of God under Jesus was established in heaven in 1914.
As the Bible foretold, when Jesus received royal authority, he cast Satan and his demons out of heaven. Their influence is currently limited to land. This is one of the reasons things have gone so wrong in the world since 1914 (Revelation 12:7, 9).
As world conditions worsen, King Jesus is making arrangements for the benefit of all. Through Jesus' foretold preaching and teaching, many people in the world today are learning the principles of God's Word and applying them in their lives. Millions of people manage to stay balanced at work, have a happier family life and not be slaves to material things. They are already learning useful things and developing the qualities expected of those who will become citizens of the Kingdom.
WHAT WILL THE KINGDOM OF GOD DO?
Even though Jesus began to reign in heaven, humans still rule the world. But God told Jesus, “Go and establish dominion over your enemies” (Psalm 110:2). Very soon, Jesus will destroy all his enemies and free all who are willing to obey God from affliction.
Then the Kingdom of God will:
It will destroy false religion. The Bible compares false religion to an immoral woman. There will be no more false religions that teach people lies about God and complicate their lives. The destruction of these religions will cause great surprise (Revelation 17:15, 16).
This will end human domination. The Kingdom of God will put an end to all human domination (Revelation 19: 15, 17, 18).
He will destroy the wicked. What will happen to people who continue to do evil and refuse to obey God? The Bible says, “As for the wicked, they shall be destroyed from the face of the earth” (Proverbs 2:22).
He will destroy Satan and his demons. Satan and his demons will no longer be able to "deceive the nations" (Revelation 20:3, 10).
What will all of this mean for those who support the Kingdom of God?
WHAT WILL IT DO FOR HUMANITY?
While Jesus reigns in heaven, he will do things that no ruler on earth could do. Another 144,000 elect will reign with him in heaven (Revelation 5:9, 10; 14:1, 3). Jesus will also do God's will on earth. But what will the Kingdom of God do for the people who will live on earth?
He will eradicate sickness and death. "No one sitting there will say, 'I am sick,'" and "there will be no more death" (Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21:4).
It will ensure true peace and security. “All his sons will live in perfect peace. And “everyone shall sit under his own vine, his own fig tree; no one will frighten them” (Isaiah 54:13; Micah 4:4).
Everyone will appreciate his work. “My chosen ones will make maximum use of the works of their hands. They will not labor in vain” (Isaiah 65:22, 23).
This will solve environmental problems. “The desert and the desert will rejoice; The steppe will rejoice and bloom like a crocus” (Isaiah 35:1).
He will teach people what they must do to live forever. "To have eternal life, they must know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent" (John 17:3).
God wants you to experience these blessings too (Isaiah 48:18). The next article will show you what you can do now to live in this wonderful world.
