Okay but yall need to learn the difference between discipline and abuse. Emotional abuse would be taking those things he loves and never giving them back maybe selling them or destroying them. That would be emotional abuse because he learns not to trust the parent and loses his sense of worth. What is actually happening is the stuff he loves, the expensive name brand stuff, is taken away for a period of time and for that time replaced with a cheap brand and at the end of the punishment they are given back. Not to mention he still has shoes on his feet and clothes on his back. It teaches humility and honesty. The kid knows there will be consequences to his actions. If the mom just destroyed the stuff he would only learn that it doesn’t matter his stuff will get destroyed anyway so he can behave badly. This is the complete opposite!
