Fan-favorite Supernatural character Castiel makes his comics debut! Castiel has always been sure. Of his faith. Of his duty. Of his position. Always. So why is he suddenly having doubts? The only thing he knows is that it has something to do with the Winchesters. He's followed them to Gainesville, FL, on a chaotic weekend when music and sports fans have descended on the city. And wherever Castiel goes, the Winchesters are one step ahead of him, hunting for the monsters that have been reported in the vicinity. Whether it's at a concert, a frat party, or wherever - by the time Castiel follows the trail there, the Winchesters have come and gone. Until they find the thing they're all looking for...together. But will Castiel help the brothers in their mission, or just get in the way?

Because publishing houses will not continue printing paper books if libraries are their only customers.

Publishers make a ton of money from selling paper books (and ebooks) to libraries. Public libraries, university libraries, K-12 school libraries...every major publisher has school and library marketing teams, school and library sales teams, school and library imprints...Libraries are a HUGE chunk of the market. Especially for children's literature, where, historically, school and library purchases accounted for around 75% of a book's earnings.

So the concerted attacks on books in schools and libraries since 2021 has had a devastating effect. Authors who used to make a living writing books that schools and libraries bought in large quantities (and then would go visit those schools and libraries to talk about books with kids) have seen their income plummet. Publishers have shuttered entire school and library imprints—one of which was 65 years old and had won every major award for children's literature multiple times. (Full disclosure they published MY award winning children's books!)

AND did you know right now the house is considering HR2616, which would ban books that have any mention of "gender ideology" from schools? That means any book written by or including trans people.

I love this book, people who read it love this book, but a lot of people did not read it and I think more should read it. If you enjoy a sweet rom com, you will enjoy this book! It is a throwback to all the ones I loved as a kid - 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, etc.

But it's also a coming-of-age-story and a book about someone who is trying to find their way when the world tells them they aren't enough of one thing or enough of the other, and tries to fit them into a neat little box.

I had a conversation w/ someone a few months ago and it was basically like, "The mistake was in how the book was marketed, leaning too much on the identity" and I hate that. But it, like Payal, is how we get boxed in so easily.
