hiiii!!
i am radosne, meaning "joyful" as in "joyful women" :) i am a Polish woman in my early 20s, straight, white, neurodivergent and working class.
welcome to my blog, previously purely aesthetic. now i have decided to stop being silent about my politics. i don't want to be yet another woman silenced about our struggle.
my main interests are radical feminism, anticapitalism, antifascism, fight against climate change/environmental destruction, critique of the beauty and fashion industry and women's mental health. (also music, art, fashion/textiles but thats fun stuff)
this introduction post will expand and change as i further my knowledge and understanding
i believe that
women are oppressed on the basis of our sex, any other definition of misogyny erases suffering of women throughout history and currently
patriarchy is a hierarchical system of oppression built on dehumanisation and subordination of one sex class (women) for the benefit of the other (men)
gender is a made up set of characteristics created to enforce certain behaviours in both sex classes that will uphold the existence of patriarchy and thus it is regressive and must be abolished.
sex is just one characteristic of your body and is immutable. you are free to be whoever you want to be and expressing yourself in a way associated stereotypically with the other sex doesn't mean you're not a man or a woman.
oppressed people have a right to their own spaces, to congregate and speak only with each other if they wish to do so without including members of the oppressive class. exlusion of males in female only spaces and conversations is not oppression, just as excluding straight people from gay and lesbian spaces isn't.
feminism's goal is women's liberation from male domination and destruction of patriarchy. women have a right to a movement that focuses only on their problems and shouldn't have to compromise their focus on their primary goal to talk about men's problems. men are free to start their own movements to address their specific struggles, as long as these movements don't infringe on women's rights and freedoms.
just because a woman makes a choice doesn't mean it is a choice alligned with the feminist cause. women can and do uphold patriarchal systems. Your sex doesn't mean your behaviour and ideals are free of scrutiny as you can be a woman and still a misogynist.
prostitution, pornography, and all other forms of so called sex work are misogynist and oppressive, even if some women "choose" to pursue them (and majority of "sex workers" want to escape the sex industry). sex is not a resource, not a service, but a freely pursued mutual act between individuals. all work under capitalism is coerced and there is a name for coerced sex acts - rape/sexual assault. sex industry harms the societal position of women as a class, fuels our dehumanisation and erodes our understanding of safe, consensual sex as a whole.
please note that i am still learning and open to constructive criticism within the scope of feminism. i do not wish to argue about my and women's basic human rights with anybody, especially males.
radical women of the world, thank you for your ongoing efforts. never stop fighting, never let them tame you. we survived thousands of years of this bullshit and we will survive whatever comes next.
can't wait to talk to you ladies :)
