alejandro ruiz santos was born and raised in long beach, california on july 18th, 1953 as the only biological child of nathalia & ricardo santos.

growing up, the santos family has always been close, alejandro considering both of his parents his best friends. this all changed when his mother fell pregnant with his baby sister when he was only 4 years old though, they started neglecting him more and more and he felt like things would never be the same again. despite this, he was glad he was going to be a big brother and was counting down the days when he was going to be able to meet her, but that day never came.

on the day his sister was supposed to come, all he could remember was his father being pushed out of the hospital as he held his grandmother's hand and his mother's screams, his mother's screams still haunt him to this day and he can never look at her the same way again. he wasn't entirely sure what was happening then as he was just a kid, but now that he looked back on it, he realizes that his mother had lost the baby. his baby sister was gone.. and he was never going to be an older brother again.

for days the house was filled with nothing but grief and tragedy, his mother not wanting to leave her room at all to play with him or to even eat and his father had drowned himself in work so much that he almost barely saw him anymore. he thought it was going to be this way forever until his grandparents came home with an idea, showing his parents a website where they could adopt a child and a few months later, he was the older brother he had hoped he could be. despite his new sister and him not being blood related, he treated her as if she was the baby sister that never was and would do just about anything for her. she became his new best friend, finally giving his parents a break from him, and even played dress up with her often despite not being a big fan of it. things truly were looking up for once and he wasn't going to change a thing.

as the siblings grew older however, his little sister became more distant, as most teenagers do, and he started to miss his best friend. whenever she left him to go hang with her friends, he would always look out the window to see when she'd return and when she was hanging out with her boyfriend, he always made sure to give him a pep talk, in case he tried something. as a result, it only made the two of them become even more distant, and because of this, he decided to get a job. he started off as a regular employee at the groovy movies when the former manager had still been manager and made his way up the ranks the more he worked.

when his sister hung out with all of her friends at the video store, she made sure to constantly ignore him, as she had always thought he was embarrassing. the only people she would truly talk to were the other young employees at the video store, the ones a bit closer to her age, and his employees noticed this. they became his new closest friends, his second family if you will, and he even started hanging out with them after work, especially since he knew his sister had already grown tired of his ass.

veronica selene du pont-moreau was born on october 25th, 1959, in paris, france, as the eldest du pont-moreau child.

growing up, life was far from perfect, but she always made sure to hide this fact from her younger siblings, as she didn't want her siblings to find out just how chaotic their family was. whenever their parents would argue or throw things at each other, she was always the one to try and take their mind off things, whether it be by putting on music for them or simply hiding in their rooms.

despite this, the du pont-moreau always seemed like the picture perfect family in the tabloids, their faces always plastered on even the most exclusive magazine covers. little was known behind the scenes, however, as the family made sure to keep their dirty laundry out of said tabloids.

when jobs started coming and going for the du pont-moreau parents, it was hard to ignore just how neglected all three kids were and this forced the eldest du pont-moreau child to grow up even sooner than she had expected. veronica was always the one that took care of her siblings and had little to no time for herself, falling behind on all of her assignments, and even dropping out of homeschooling just to help her siblings with their own schoolwork and being a full time parent of kids that weren't even her own.

this is why it came as no surprise to anyone when the eldest du pont-moreau child fledded to galapagos, greece just as she turned 18, she needed to get away from her chaotic family. when she had gotten there, she was finally free to be herself and not only attended the best parties, but had the best drinks and drugs. they were so good, in fact, that she could barely remember the night afterwards if it hadn't been for all the pictures her newfound friends had taken of her finally being able to spread her wings. did it show up on the tabloids back home the next day? yes, but she wasn't entirely worried, as she simply chose to ignore her parents calls the next day.

while in the galapagos, she met her fiance who was greek royalty that had decided to leave said life behind and the two hit it off instantly. they began dating not long after their first meeting and after three whole dates in the span of mere weeks, the two were engaged. veronica insists that it's love, but it's truthfully just because she was high as fuck and also wants to leave her old life behind and it all starts with a new name.
