" If that is the case, it is a true wonder any alchemists are still breathing at this rate. " Present company included in that. Why did Wolrick have the lingering, gnawing feeling that he, a grim reaper, was ironically going to be fighting to keep this other man alive?
"Oh, hey, hey! A stumble is not a fall. An alchemist may stumble over new discoveries, but they rarely fall. You could say we're good stumblers." James paused and furrowed his brows. "Is that even a word? Stumbler. It sounds weird. Anyway." He cleared his throat. "You'll see. One day I'll make grand new discoveries." By accident. Terrible, terrible accidents. No doubt.
"É bem verdade, mãe." Pedro chuckled in response, appreciating how easy his mother was to talk to, to be around, everything. She was the light of his life, he was a proud momma's boy and saw nothing wrong with it.
"Thank you. Really." He smiled softly, taking a sip of his drink as he did so, listening to what she had to say. "I'll tell him when I see him tomorrow, I'm sure he'd love that. He thinks very highly of you, you know? I can't imagine why."
"Oh really?" Mina's entire face lit up. She loved having people over and being seen as a good host was exactly the kind of praise that filled her heart with joy. "What's his favourite dish again? Oh, and tell him to come hungry and to bring containers for leftovers." She grinned. "That applies to you too. Of course. Speaking of, how much cake do you want to take with you?"
Tom graciously took the cup of coffee, taking a little sip. It was better than nothing. Fuck this fucking weather. He swallowed a little tightly and then lifted it with a small nod of 'adieu' or whatever the hell it was people liked to do. "That's assuming I have soul~," he stated with a rolling tease to his tone.
"Everything that suffers has a soul," Lua decided with unwavering conviction. "And you certainly look the part." She paused. "No offence." She took a long contemplating sip of her own cup of coffee, her eyes scanning the far horizon, before her gaze landed on Tom again. "Are you stuck or merely indecisive where to go, if the here doesn't suffice?"
"You know you don't have to owe me, right? I certainly didn't help you just for what I could get out of it. But I appreciate the offer and will keep that in mind." Nicky smiled over at the other man, letting out a soft breath. "I uh... Let me just..." Moving to the desk, he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, writing down his name and contact number. "If you ever find yourself in need of help again. You can call me and I'll be there. No questions asked."
Martín's hand went to his hip to retrieve his own business card from the little holder in his pocket. Only to realise that since moments prior to his transformation his clothes lay neatly folded in his stash not far from the city border. At least he hoped everything was still there.
"Uh... right, no cards...," he mumbled before he reached for the pen and scribbled a quick (barely readable) Dr. Juan Pablo Martín onto the bottom of the paper followed by his number. Then he tore the paper in half and handed Nicky his number. "That would be me. Apologies for the scrawl. I tried. I promise."

Did he recall what had happened to him? Even now as he struggled to keep his eyes open and the blurriness from obstructing his vision, Sidian couldn't fully remember what it was that had attacked him. All the witch knew was that it had been a damn set up. A ploy against his life that he should have seen coming. "I don't know," he groaned, sagging against the workbench as the vines around him trembled seemingly with fear but it was the waning of his control of them that was slipping.
"Something old, something I've never..." he gasped as pain wracked his body and he shut his eyes to focus momentarily. "Never seen before. It was..." the witch tried to remember any details and he huffed with annoyance. "Slimy, it kept slipping out of my attacks and s-stabbed me with a--" he gestured towards one of his vines vaguely to relay that whatever had stabbed him had been similar and with trembling hands he tugged up his shirt, growling with pained irritation as he showed the gnarly wound that was black at the edges already. Some sort of toxin.
Lua's eyes narrowed the moment he pulled the shirt aside. "Kraken's balls...", she murmured under her breath. She pressed two fingers lightly against the skin around it, studying the discoloration while the greenhouse seemed to shudder around them. "Venom." Her voice dropped low. "It's in your blood already." She glanced up at Sidian, trying to force a crooked smile that never quite reached her eyes. "I wish you would say 'you should see the other guy.'" The joke was dead on arrival. Her gaze returned to the wound. "Whatever stabbed you wasn't trying to scare you off. It was trying to finish the job."
She rose quickly and crossed to the shelves lining the workbench. Old books. Older secrets. Her fingers skimmed cracked leather spines until she found one thick volume stained with dirt and age. She flipped it open and began turning pages, searching through sketches of poisonous flora and their cures. "Stay awake," she warned without looking at him. "Keep talking if you can. Let me find a plant that could help you."
Cris smiled fondly as he heard Quinn talking of his family, eyes following to where he retrieved the wallet from his person. He caught sight of the charms and it made him curious, however that could wait and he instead focused on what he was showing. It was so lovely to see such a happy memory that they shared. Parenthood was not something that he had ever really thought about for himself, not that he did not want it but simply that it had not been a priority - especially once the deal was made.
"That's beautiful. She looks just like you, too. You must be very proud of her... And I suspect she'd be proud of you too, if I'm not mistaken."
"Yeah... The poor thing got stuck with my looks. Worse, some of my quirks too." Quinn chuckled. He could see a lot of Julienne in Gabi too. The redeeming qualities. But most of it all, he saw a wonderful young woman, capable to take on the world, and yet he wished he could still shield her from all the horrible danger that lurked in the dark.
"I am. Incredibly proud even. She grew up so fast... I just held her for the first time and now she's out and about playing music and earning her own money." He shook his head. "Sorry. Sorry. I didn't mean to... I don't get to talk much and when I do seem to hijack the conversation. I'm sorry. Do you have...kids? ...family?"
it was in his dna how a union between celestial's and human could never be. the same applied to all others. And that included Niamh. her tone had that anger mixed with hurt maybe, michael wasn't proud of that he knew this reaction was because of what he said. yet, he said no lies. even if he loved her so much he could never be with her. ❝ it doesn't matter what you do or what you are, you and i can never be. ❞ union of celestial's and other beings, creatures will leave the universe with no balance. ❝ good, that you understand then. don't get worked up about what i said, when you know deep down it's the truth. even if it means we'll lose each other in the end. ❞
"Oh, I understand." Cognitively, at least. On a completely objective level, she understood. Far removed from her own feelings and that damn aching heart that made it so unbearable to just punch him in the throat and walk away. Not that she could punch him, if she tried, but damn, she wished.
"I don't accept it." She crossed her arms. "This is not about saving someone heartbreak in the long run. It's about denying us making beautiful memories together. And, fuck, I would've made a bloody great beautiful memory. I would've made you dozens of those! But I guess that means fuckall in the grand scheme of things. What a glorious moment for the Celestial."
Hey everyone. Sorry again. I feel like I owe you an explanation of sorts. For the past months my partner has been sick and in and out of the hospital. It's not like my life completely stopped, I just tended to escape into video games and didn't feel like talking to anyone. Two weeks ago we think my partner went through their last surgery. I'm cautiously optimistic and definitely more exhausted than I allowed myself to acknowledge. I've been rereading a lot of threads and I'm so in love with everything we created together, what a beautiful writing style and gorgeous ideas all of you have. I wish I could fully jump back in, but last time that didn't work out. So instead, expect me to sloooowly crawl my way back into rp xD I'm very proud I've managed to queue one (yes, ONE) reply today on my way to work. Expect more. Just... don't put a timestamp on it. I incredibly miss y'all. Wish you all a lovely day! And don't forget: you're awesome!
"I think I could manage that, love." Diogo smiled as he swayed in his husband's arms, pressing a tender kiss to Murilo's cheek as they moved to a musicless beat. "Just perhaps not when I'm teaching, the students might get a little restless and won't stop laughing. Can't have them thinking I'm a softie."
Murilo let out a hearty chuckle and briefly covered his mouth with his hand, eyes bright with mischief. He leaned a little closer anyway, like he simply couldn't help the gravitational pull of his love.
"Oh lindo," his fingers brushed lightly against Diogo's wrist. "I don't know if I would call you a softie, but I absolutely adore every bit about you. Even the softie bits." He leaned in for a kiss. "Especially those."

Looking for 'I can fix him' plots for my vengeful IT corpo Caio João Oliveira Novaes. Could be romantic (m/f/nb). Could be friends. Could be family (paternal half-siblings anyone?)
Rafa closed his eyes for a moment, the accusation hitting him harder than he wanted to admit. A quiet exasperated sigh dragged out of his chest as he bkinked the shock from his eyes. "Porra," he muttered, voice rough though he wasn't angry. "I couldn't fix you if I tried." He shook his head at Theo, his expression softening. "Because that'd mean you're broken. Which you're not." His lips twitched into the tiniest smile. "You're just… an idiot sometimes. But you're my irmãozinho idiota. You and your backup. And I wouldn't have it any other way."
i'm allowed to make fun of you. nobody else is. (Theo to Nick)
Nick snorted into his coffee and leaned forward. He looked at Theo over the rim of his mug and grinned. "Oh, that's rich coming from my prototype," he retaliated. "Obviously it goes both ways. And trust me, irmão, you would not be prepared for the avalanche that'd come down on you if I ever decided to stop holding back. I've been collecting material for years." His tone stayed light, teasing. Fond, too. Then his expression softened even more. "Still," he admitted, "it feels good. This. Us" He lifted his cup slightly. "Coffee together. Arguing about stupid things again. After years drifting apart." A small smile tugged at his mouth. "I missed you."
i didn't just lose my friend, i lost an entire chapter of my life. (Ben to Miguel)
Miguel crossed his arms hard across his chest. The only way he knew to keep his trembling fists from lashing out. The wedding music drifted through the hall. Glasses clinked. People laughed just a bit too loud for his liking. He knew that Grace stood only a few metres away, back turned and busy chatting, and it was enough to stop him from making a scene. He shook his head at Ben slowly, like the older hunter had become a stranger wearing a familiar face. Maybe that was the worst part. Maybe some stupid part of him still wanted to look up to Ben. "Lost?," Miguel huffed a bitter laugh. It was quiet and brittle. "You keep saying you lost a friend. You didn't lose anything." His jaw tightened hard enough to ache. "You chose this. You chose them over us." The word us carried weight. Carolina. Him. The only constant he could trust. Miguel looked away for a second, trying to bury the crack in his voice before it showed too much. "You betrayed me. You betrayed Carolina." His eyes cut back to Ben, cold but wounded underneath. "So don't stand there acting like this just happened to you."

he didn't expect himself to fall hard for someone. michael over stayed his welcome, his mission was completed for now however there were always other missions to come. love went against heavenly codes, the heavens considered this to be an abomination. he never thought this but his father did. there were more to humans; after all they were made in his father's image. ❝ we don't belong together, doesn't matter how i feel towards you. ❞
Niamh stared at Michael like he'd just punched her in the gut and expected her to take it. Her jaw clenched, her eyes narrowed dangerously. "What the actual fucking fuck?" she snapped, voice rough and shaking. "What do you mean...? You--" Her eyes widened when she thought she'd cracked the code. "Oh! Don't you pull that mortality card on me. I know mortality. It's my bloody job. I usher souls to the other side. I understand more than you think!" She looked furious. Mean, even. Like she wanted to hit him for bringing it up in the first place. But under all that heat was fear. The fear of losing someone forever.

Plot: Donnie is watching your muse fiddling with something.
The man leaned back, his weight shifting, his eyes narrowed in focus as he watched them struggling to piece a broken...something, back together. He couldn't quite tell what they were holding- and honestly couldn't care less but that didn't stop a nagging curiosity from keeping his gaze fixed on their hands. He scratched his head softly before folding his arms back over his chest. "Is it supposed to do that?"
"Fuck if I know, mate." Niamh squinted at the weird brass puzzle box in her hands. She jabbed at one of the shifting panels. It clicked. Then hissed. She sighed hard enough to almost deflate her. Niamh was one bad second away from smashing the box against the floor.
"This is bulkshit," she declared through gritted teeth. "I'm not a fucking copper. I ferry souls. That's the deal. Find the dead. Give 'em closure. Wee journey to the afterlife. That's it." She shook the box. It rattled mockingly. "But no. This twit gets himself murdered. Now he won't leave me alone until I solve it."
She rubbed at her eyes with clear exhaustion, suddenly realising how insane she probably sounded. "Fuck me...," she muttered. "I sound like a complete weirdo." Then she tossed the box at the other Donnie's chest. "Here. You try the cursed thing before I launch it into the fucking ocean."
