Their optics flick from the little card in their servos, to you, back to the card, and then back to you.

Not quite perplexed, not quite baffled — more-so… astounded. By your utter gall.

You’d appeared, rather spontaneously, interrupting them from their work and demanding their immediate attention. All over some flimsy piece of cardboard. For them.

The front of it is decorated with a myriad of colourful splotches (— “It’s called confetti!” —) which, apparently, is supposed to mean that something good happened; something worth celebrating.

But the card itself is of little concern. After all, it’s not what’s on the outside that has them bothered.

They twirl it between their digits, giving you a look. One that demands an answer.

You have the audacity to smile sheepishly and shrug in response, mumbling out an embarrassed, “Weeeeell, I saw it, aaaaand I thought of you?”

Their optical ridge furrows as they open up the card again, and carefully peel off the triangular yellow sticker taped to the card’s innards. They hold it up, its shiny surface catching the light, and illuminating the text on it.

BABY ON BOARD, it reads, in big, bold black letters.

“Is this supposed to be funny?” they grumble, glaring at you.

You attempt to stifle a chuckle-

“…A LITTLE, YEAH!“

-and fail, as you double over forwards with a sharp wheeze.

Your beloved bot simply fumes in response, venting sharply and slowly. “You are… absolutely insufferable.”
