I'm not a MAP/pedo/etc, but I met someone who claimed to be a chronoadult and knew them as such for a year or two, turned out to be a chrono13, now chrono15-16, I'm in my Chrono mid 20s, and we still do fictional character ERPs, they claim they see no issue, it's not sexualizing them or me just characters, and I treat them like my own child figure while they treat me like a parental figure due to them having an absent parent in their life. I teach them to healthily cope with their mental issues, how to put up boundaries, what to generally do when they find trouble in life, how to look out for actual preds and abusers and avoid them, ect.
They've expressed that if I leave them, they will very likely look for another adult, regardless if that adult will sexualize the chronokid, want irl intercourse, or even have Ill intention against them, manipulate them, ect, because they only care about having the sexual attention of an adult to cope with their hypersexual disorder, and have admitted to being addicted to it.
I'm generally anti-contact, or more spesifically, no-act, so this weird situationship we got going on makes me very paranoid and feel morally twisted, but I know without me they will be worse off, I've left them in the past and they DID infact seek out a manipulative adult who no longer is in their life but still caused them trauma they deal with today, I don't want that pain on them again, their IRL situation is already shit enough, they've expressed that me and the ERPs (and RPs) are one of their favourite escapes and gives them something to look forward to the next day
What the fuck do I do? If I leave I'll feel guilty for abandoning my child figure as well as the probably seeking out an abuser who will actually hurt them- and frankly, they're a good kid, I like their company, I like the roleplays, I like talking about fandoms of watching new shows together or playing games together, I like and enjoy their company, and I genuinely dont want them to seek out an abuser and I know they will if I go cuz they want someone to obsess over them right away... Not only that, but earlier in our friendship the kid tried to blackmail me into staying, saying that despite not seeing me as one, theyd call me out as a predator so I won't leave, they claim it was empty promises and theyd never do it, but I still fear.....
At the same time, breaking my own morals is harsh on my brain, I don't think using your childhood on ERPs is good, I did it myself and it feels like time waisted, not only that, but I fear the legal consequences, they have me shaking in paranoia, I dont consider myself a bad person, I don't want to be locked up, I have dreams of helping the world that I want to fulfill in my lifetime...
Again, I must say- the friendship/situationship isn't abusive, they'd told me I can leave and theyd never "call me out" or do anything to hurt me, they'd be sad yes but they'd leave me be, they have BPD which makes them have episodes of being abusive but my paranoia doesn't let me take the claims they make in those episodes with salt, I take them at face value, and theyve improved a lot as a person over the years, which they claim is thanks to me, and I see it, I've given them advice and over time theyve followed it, I know I have a good effect on their life
What should I do? Personally, I want to stay, but my paranoia makes life sometimes a hell, but what's the right thing to do?
Poll options please if you could...
-Stay, it's not hurting anyone really.
-Stay, it might be hurting someone/both but the other option/risk is far worse for someone/both.
-Take frequent breaks- (this causes them major panic attacks and SH episodes but) you should minimize contact while staying in their life to discourage them seeking someone to abuse them. (Worst option IMO but idk what the masses think)
-Leave when they're chrono18, they depend on you right now as a parent to regulate and guide them, but at chrono18 should be able to manage themselves.
-Leave, this is wrong and hurting someone/both involved.
They ' re what seems to be grooming you , saying that you can leave but if you do they will most likely go for someone dangerous . I would say leave , you are not to blame for anything they do , but don't ghost them , explain why you ' re leaving / distancing yourself from them , give them tips on how to cope with this and make it clear that going for other adults is not something that they should do and if they can get professional help then they should get it . Thought this is just my two cent opinion .
