Sharing with you my #MentosMoment on a Sunday!
Three minutes before the 4pm service, one of my favorite shoes gave up on me. Everyone was already on the stage for the praise and worship, while I was stuck at the back thinking for other options. But there ain’t any, since I’m a 9 (I know, I’m a giant.) So, we purposefully had to break the other heel. Btw, it wasn’t me who did it—it was my bestfriend Joanna and her supernatural strength. She was thrilled with the idea of breaking someone else’s pair of heels, she said. I guess that’s what friends are for too? And yep, I went and led worship with these on.

But it’s amazing how God used that three-minute moment to reveal things to me about worship. I have learned that:
1. It’s never about me. — He can always use us and equip us, but it is NEVER about us. Worship is not about us. We live for Him and everything that flows in us and through us is an out pour of His love for us. It’s for His glory, never ours.
2. We don’t have to be comfortable to have a heart of worship. — Sometimes we think that we have to be “okay” or we have to be “at our best” before coming to God. It’s easy for us to worship Him when things are going right but we find it challenging to praise Him and thank Him in moments of trial and difficulty. We worship as if God’s heart for us is based on how good our present situation is. But the truth is that, we can actually come and worship Jesus even in times of brokenness and despair. That even if we are not at our best, God is still for us and we have ALL the reasons to praise and thank Him. And oftentimes, He still delights in us as we step out of our comfort zone and still chooses to glorify His name.
3. It doesn’t matter how uncomfortable your situation is, and how unexpected or unplanned things may get.— For the Lord is STILL good, and His love endures forever. Not even my broken heels would ever change that truth. :)
