i have a completely genuine question: what does being rabiosexual mean, and what does it mean to you? does this align with or differ from a) the autistic trans movement thing and/or b) rabies, the virus itself?

i am a disease aficionado (especially rabies -- it's terribly interesting) and i've always wondered about this particular niche, but haven't been able to get a straight answer. i hope i'm not overstepping. best regards!

Rabiosexual to me means being sexually attracted to being gifted rabies. To me it also mean rabioromantic extends out to critters, most common being raccoons, bats, ect. I feel a strong connection to them as well as people who have died through rabies. I feel a lot of empathy for them. This has some overlap with the rabies pride movement, which I also participate in, but overall differs. A lot of people who are RS-RR may never attempt to be gifted rabies and may not associate with rabies pride.

I happen to be trans and RS-RR, I don't think I am autistic but I might be, but the main overlap I have with the rabies pride community comes from my trans identity and feeling "othered" and casted out. I also have a lot of empathy for people and animals with rabies and how alone and scary it can be. I know some people have more overlap, especially those who are neurodivergent. They might use rabies pride but might not use the identities RS-RR in the manner I do.

Overall there is overlap and I am part of both RS-RR and rabies pride! But it is different to everyone! ^-^

I have been hearing some talk about a rabies pride panel from dashcon 2. I was excited until I learned it was associated with strangea*ons. Can some one fill me in about what they talked about?

I'm unsure how to feel. On one hand I love advocacy work but I don't know if this was a joke thing. I'm leaning more towards a joke due to the associations with other parties. :\

Hi, I ran the panel. It was a combination of the history of rabies pride (and how it is actually a movement for autistic trans people and someone made up rabiosexual as a mean joke), as well as educational information about the actual sexual symptoms of rabies and raccoon behavior and welfare. It absolutely was not a joke thing, I am a strong rabies pride ally and an actual raccoon biologist.

Hey everyone it's been a bit, sorry I have been inactive. It turns out I wasn't gifted with rabies, but in fact gifted with mania.

It has been a while since i've updated. Just to catch up on life i went to a zoo recent and got to HOLD a raccoon and i got a couple pictures. It was really cute, but i don't want to post them for privacy issues. I was really excited.

I also recently came out to a couple of friends and it went really well! :D They were really supportive, I don't think they fully got it, but it is a really good start to finally feeling supported. ❤️🖤
