Everyone's got a post circus au, so here is mine:
Pomni: (Christine Hana Tamura)
-she prefers going by Hana
-Grew up with her mother, father, and five years elder sister
-her father passed when she was in the circus from stroke complications (Passed in February)
-Poor relationship with mother and sister. The death of her father further strained things when she returned from the circus. She had a semi-stable relationship with her father. (Hana won't admit it bc she's stubborn but she had a good relationship with her father, and inherited his love for beer.)
-Mother, sister, and sister's husband moved to Japan. Her father was born in Japan, studied business in the United States where he met her mother. Hana considers herself to have elementary speaking level Japanese, but can read kanji fairly fluently. Due to her father's citizenship, she technically has citizenship in both America and Japan.
-Hana is an accountant (obvs). Very scared of spending money on furniture/home pieces because it feels too permanent. Pays the bulk on her and Jax's studio apartment.
Jax: (Jesse Mateo Flores)
-he goes by Jax still bc he does not like his given name
-father dipped when he found out his mother was pregnant with him
-lived with his mom for the first ten years of his life. His mother abandoned him at her sister's (his aunt).
-Lived with his aunt and three female cousins until he was 17, when his aunt's boyfriend (at the time) kicked him out. Cousins: Arabella (2 years older), Rosa (same age, few months apart), and Maria (3 years younger).
-stick and poked *ARM* onto his left inner wrist to honor his cousins. He also has a Ghastly Pokemon tattoo on his arm bc of a stupid decision with his stoner friends a few months before he ended up in the circus.
-he is bilingual (english and spanish)
-In relation to Jax's cousins: they were more than cousins, basically his sisters growing up. Arabella (the eldest) is very much an eldest daughter. She was always in everyone's business and still is. Hence her surprise phone call. I do intend to have Jax call her back, but I'm still working out how I want that to go. Her love and care were at times overwhelming to him, and misinterpreted on his end.
He and Rosa (his age) got along really well. Basically two peas in a pod. So when he initially had been kicked out of his Aunt's house, and Rosa didn't even try to reach out/find him/seek him out at school, it hurt like a bitch. (He skipped high school graduation, so he wouldn't have to see his Aunt, Step-Uncle, and cousins.) He still picked up his diploma though, he had a solid teacher that kind of looked out for him later during his hs years.
Maria (youngest) was the one who first introduced Jax to makeup, by strong arming him into doing his makeup. Jax has a particular soft spot for her. If he ever reached out, I think Maria would be the one he would be open to having some semblance of a relationship with. (Out of the three, I want her to reach out to him, and tell him that she left home too bc of her mom's second husband.) Coincidentally, she's a full time makeup artist.
